Find Crystal Chunks with Mining Outcrop Search
HoYoverse introduced Mining Outcrop Search in Version 1.1. Its feature description says you can unlock it by reaching Reputation Level 2 in Mondstadt or Liyue. After unlocking it, speak to that region’s blacksmith to have ore deposits identified and marked on the map. HoYoverse names Wagner in Mondstadt and Master Zhang in Liyue; the marked deposits can yield Crystal Chunks. Read HoYoverse’s Version 1.1 feature description.

- Speak with Wagner in Mondstadt or Master Zhang in Liyue.

HoYoverse provides an official interactive map of Teyvat. The available page information does not confirm a Crystal Chunk-specific marker or filter there, so treat it as a general map resource rather than assuming it has a dedicated ore layer.

A third-party interactive map explicitly lists Crystal Chunk markers among its ore categories. Use it to plan a route when its pins are helpful, and check its current coverage: community maps can be incomplete or out of date. A fan-maintained Crystal Chunk page also points readers to an interactive map and a Liyue farming guide, but those are secondary resources.

Build a practical Crystal Chunk farming run
- Choose the region you want to farm and check its in-game ore-deposit markers through Mining Outcrop Search.
- Open the interactive map alongside the game. Use its Crystal Chunk pins if available, but compare them with the in-game markers rather than assuming either map is exhaustive.
- Group nearby deposits into a route that suits your starting point and available play time. Prioritize convenient clusters instead of treating an older video route as a current fastest route.
- Mine the deposits you reach, then recheck the maps and game for other useful locations as needed.
A creator’s 2020 video gives a route estimate of about 50 minutes for its full run, but that is a dated estimate for that particular route, not a current benchmark for all players. See the creator’s 2020 route video.

What Crystal Chunks are used for
Crystal Chunks are collected for forging. A 2020 creator route guide describes their use in weapon experience consumables and certain four-star weapons, but it does not establish an exhaustive, current recipe list. Check the forging menu in your current game for exact recipes and requirements before farming for a specific item. The dated route guide provides that general context.
Magical Crystal Chunks and Adventure Rank
HoYoverse’s Version 1.1 feature description says Magical Crystal Chunks become mineable after reaching Adventure Rank 30. This is a separate detail from the Reputation Level 2 requirement for Mining Outcrop Search; the description does not say that reaching Adventure Rank 30 unlocks the search feature.

A reliable current total yield per run and a precise respawn interval are not established by the sources cited here. Route totals can also depend on which locations a player includes, so avoid treating old route videos or community discussions as definitive numbers. Use the current in-game markers and check again later rather than planning around an unverified timer.
