Where to start the Black Night Kubo bounty
Go to the bounty board at the Red Crane Inn in Teshio Ridge and take or track the Black Night Kubo bounty. The duel takes place at the Black Knight Dueling Ring, also in Teshio Ridge, within Sentinel Forest. PowerPyx’s October 1, 2025 guide identifies both the starting board and the ring.

How to reach the dueling ring and summon Kubo
- Travel to the Black Knight Dueling Ring in Sentinel Forest, Teshio Ridge.
- Look for a round, snow-filled clearing ringed with bamboo and straw lanterns.
- Find the dead body beside a straw mat. Equip black armor before interacting with the mat.
- Clap the woodblocks at the mat to trigger Kubo’s appearance.
The armor’s color is the important trigger: PowerPyx reports that armor in another color will not summon him. If you own Nine Tail Armor, its default “Eyes in Smoke” color is reported to work; you can unequip its mask or helmet. If Kubo does not appear, check the armor color first.
Combat tips for the duel
Nerd’s Chalk’s guide, updated October 6, 2025, recommends treating this as a one-on-one duel and responding to attack cues rather than trading blows indiscriminately. These are guide recommendations, not official documentation or independently verified mechanics.

The available guides do not establish a reliable move-by-move attack list, damage figures, or difficulty-specific changes, so use the visual cues in your own encounter rather than relying on a fixed sequence.
Black Night Kubo bounty reward
PowerPyx lists the reward as 750 Coins and Black Night Kubo’s Mask. The coin amount is a game-guide reward claim, not a broader statistic.
