Buy Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition if you are new to the game. It costs $69.99 in the US—the same launch price as the 2025 Standard Edition—and adds the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion, Most Wanted combat-survival mode, every Digital Deluxe cosmetic, and the Charm of Hokkyokusei. If you already own Standard or Digital Deluxe, buy the $14.99 Complete Edition Upgrade instead. Choose a discounted Standard Blu-ray only when the lowest possible price matters and you are happy to skip the paid additions. The Collector’s Edition is a memorabilia purchase: in Western markets it contains a digital game code and physical Ghost-themed goods, not a game disc.

Which Ghost of Yōtei edition should a new player buy?
The Complete Edition is the clear default for a first purchase in late 2026. Sony and Sucker Punch released it on 1 October 2026 at $69.99, matching the original Standard launch price while adding the two paid post-launch features and the former Digital Deluxe package. A physical Complete Edition is listed for PS5 retailers, while the digital version is sold through the PlayStation Store.

Standard remains sensible only when a discounted disc is substantially cheaper and you intend to play the base campaign without the paid additions. Legends, the major online co-op update, is free for every owner, so you do not need Complete Edition to access it.
What does Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition include?
Complete combines the original campaign with all paid content and the Digital Deluxe bonuses. Its additions fall into three groups: story and modes, cosmetic or convenience items, and free updates that are available separately to every owner.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Story and paid modes
- Echoes of Sekigahara: a narrative expansion moving between present-day Ezo and flashbacks. It introduces Nagato, a figure from Atsu’s past; a previously unseen valley associated with the Snake and the Vipers; and Atsu’s participation in the Battle of Sekigahara. It also adds heavy weapons, armor sets and dyes.
- Most Wanted: a single-player combat-survival mode that Sucker Punch describes as its spin on a roguelike. Bounty runs, perks and additional playable characters change the structure from the main campaign; trailer examples include Atsu with dual katana, Oyuki with a kusarigama and Nagato with a yari.
Digital Deluxe content carried into Complete
- The Snake Armor
- Digital Deluxe Armor Dye
- Digital Deluxe Horse and Saddle
- A Sword Kit, described as a golden sword kit in some regional listings
- Charm of Amaterasu, the charm named on the current official Complete listing
- Traveler’s Maps early unlock, which helps reveal statue locations used for skill upgrades
Complete also adds the in-game Mask and Charm of Hokkyokusei. The package therefore replaces the old $10 Digital Deluxe premium with substantially more content at the Standard launch price.
What is free for all owners
Legends is a free major update supporting two-to-four-player online co-op and a mode structure that culminates in a Raid. PlayStation Plus is required for online play. The 1 October 2026 patch also brought the Beauty of Yōtei environment screensaver-style mode, Watanabe Mode music tracks, an option to keep one armor set’s appearance while using another set’s statistics, and a high-contrast accessibility option. Those updates are not locked behind Complete.

Yes, for anyone who already owns the game and wants the paid additions. The US add-on price is $14.99, and it grants Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted. If your existing copy is Standard and lacks the Deluxe pack, the same upgrade also immediately unlocks the Snake Armor, dye, horse and saddle, sword kit, Traveler’s Maps, Charm of Amaterasu and Charm of Hokkyokusei. Digital Deluxe owners receive the expansions and the Complete-exclusive Charm of Hokkyokusei.
Do not repurchase the $69.99 Complete Edition when you already own a launch copy. A leftover Digital Deluxe Upgrade, if it appears in a regional store, is inferior value: the Complete Upgrade costs the same $14.99 while adding both expansions.

What is in the Standard Edition?
Standard contains the base PS5 game on a Blu-ray disc or as a digital download. Its US launch price was $69.99; regional launch prices were £69.99 in the UK, €79.99 in euro markets, and ¥8,980 tax included in Japan. In late October 2026, an Amazon US search showed the PS5 disc at about $53.99, making it the cheapest route into the campaign when that stock and price are available.
Standard does not include Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted or the Digital Deluxe items. You can add those later with the $14.99 Complete Edition Upgrade, so buying the cheaper disc does not prevent a future upgrade.

Launch bonuses and current discs
Launch Standard copies were advertised with seven PSN avatars featuring Atsu and the Yōtei Six plus an in-game mask. Japanese guides described these as pre-order and early-purchase bonuses. Sony’s live Complete Edition module does not confirm that a newly manufactured discounted Standard disc in late 2026 still carries those digital entitlements; check the individual product listing rather than assuming they are included.
Is Digital Deluxe worth buying now?
As a new purchase, no: its $79.99 US launch price bought the base game and cosmetics but no exclusive mission, map or playable area. The main story and regions were identical to Standard. Complete now costs $69.99 and includes that entire Deluxe pack plus two substantial additions, so Digital Deluxe is primarily a legacy SKU for people who bought it in 2025.

The Deluxe bundle’s value was convenience and appearance. Snake Armor, its dye, the horse and saddle, sword kit, Charm of Amaterasu and early Traveler’s Maps alter presentation or progression convenience, not the campaign’s story content. Existing Digital Deluxe owners should use the Complete Edition Upgrade rather than buying another full copy.
What is in the Collector’s Edition, and does it include a disc?
The Western Collector’s Edition is aimed at memorabilia collectors, not players seeking extra gameplay. Its US launch price was $249.99 through PlayStation Direct; UK and euro prices were £219.99 and €249.99, while Japan was listed at ¥31,980.
Digital contents
Western boxes include the Digital Deluxe game contents and launch bonuses through a digital download code. English-language listings from PlayStation-related retailers and publications consistently describe a code rather than a Blu-ray disc. A Japanese listing describes a packaged disc edition with the same goods, so the disc question is regional: inspect the product page for your market before buying.
Physical goods

- Four art cards, each about 12.7 × 17.8 cm

It is not documented as including a katana replica, steelbook or bound art book. Those items appear in inaccurate third-party descriptions and should not be used to identify a genuine package. Collector stock was limited at launch and any late-2026 resale availability is volatile; the original official channel was PlayStation Direct.

How do the launch prices compare by region?
The following figures are launch MSRPs, not promises of current store pricing. Complete’s $69.99 US price is the current reference for a new purchase; Standard discs can fall below it through retailer discounts.
| Edition | US | UK | Euro pricing | Japan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $69.99 | £69.99 | €79.99 | ¥8,980 |
| Digital Deluxe | $79.99 | £79.99 | €89.99 | ¥9,980 |
| Collector’s | $249.99 | £219.99 | €249.99 | ¥31,980 |
Complete Edition launched at $69.99 in the US. The $14.99 Upgrade is a separate add-on for existing owners, not a second copy of the base game.
Which edition fits your situation?
- You have never played: buy Complete Edition, digital or physical.
- You want the cheapest disc and may never play expansions: compare the current Standard Blu-ray price with Complete. A roughly $53.99 Standard listing is about $16 below Complete’s $69.99 list price.
- You already own Standard: buy Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99 instead of rebuying the game.
- You already own Digital Deluxe: buy the same Upgrade; you already have most cosmetics, and the add-on supplies the expansions and Charm of Hokkyokusei.
- You collect physical merchandise: seek the Collector’s Edition only if the Ghost Mask and accompanying objects justify the premium. Its gameplay code is not a separate campaign.
- You only want online Legends: any edition supplies the free update; budget for PlayStation Plus because online play requires it.
Should you choose a disc or digital copy?
Digital Complete is the simplest route when you want immediate access and do not trade games. A disc Standard or Complete copy can be cheaper during retailer sales and can be resold, but it requires the disc in the console to play. Digital Deluxe was PlayStation Store-only, while the Western Collector’s package used a digital code despite its physical presentation box.
Physical Complete availability was reported from 1 October 2026, including an Amazon PS5 listing at $69.99. PlayStation.com continues to list the Standard Blu-ray separately. Retail inventory and discounts change, so compare the delivered price and edition label before checkout.

Are the themed PS5 bundles different game editions?
No. Ghost of Yōtei Black and Gold Limited Edition PS5 bundles are hardware packages, not fourth campaign editions. Their launch MSRP was $599.99 in the US, and bundles included a limited DualSense controller and a voucher for the base game, not Deluxe or Complete. Matching hardware included an $84.99 Black limited controller and $64.99 Gold covers for PS5 Pro and Slim. Buy these for the console design; they do not replace Complete Edition if you want the expansions.
What platform and age-rating limits apply?
Ghost of Yōtei launched exclusively on PS5 on 2 October 2025, with PS5 Pro support. The official page lists no PS4 or PC edition in the current product information. The game is rated Mature by the ESRB. Its setting is rural Ezo in the 1600s, roughly 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima; Jin Sakai is not the protagonist, and the official pronunciation of Yōtei is “Yo-tay.”

The ranking uses the factors that change a buyer’s decision in October 2026: current price versus launch MSRP, whether story or modes are included, cosmetic contents, disc-versus-code format, collectible value, and store availability. It treats free Legends and the 2026 quality-of-life patch separately from paid Complete content, and it flags regional packaging differences instead of applying Western Collector’s details worldwide.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you pronounce Yōtei?
The official PlayStation game page gives the pronunciation as “Yo-tay.” The macron marks the long vowel, but you do not need a different pronunciation for regional editions.
Does Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition include the PS5 Pro version separately?
No separate purchase is described for PS5 Pro. The game launched on PS5 with PS5 Pro support, so the same edition covers that hardware family.
Can I buy the Collector’s physical items without buying another game copy?
The Collector’s package was sold as a complete bundle containing a game code in Western markets. Late-2026 resale listings may separate or repackage goods, but their contents and code status must be verified with the individual seller.

What happened to the Sakai Armor bonus?
The early-unlock window ended on 30 September 2026 for qualifying digital Complete Edition and Upgrade purchases. A purchase made after that cutoff should not be advertised as including the bonus.
