Oshima Coast unlocks during the main tale The Saito Brothers. Once you arrive, a practical sweep is to clear camps along your path, take nearby progression activities, solve the Reliquary of Faith, and tackle the Budding Grace Shrine when you are ready to climb. This is a convenience route, not a verified 100% sequence: the available guides do not establish one exact order for every activity or all four Saito Brothers tales.
How do you unlock Oshima Coast?
Oshima Coast is the last of the six main regions. Access opens during The Saito Brothers; speaking to characters may start a pursuit of a Yōtei Six member, but that does not bypass the campaign gate. PlayStation describes the game as “Ghost of Yōtei is a standalone experience set in 1600s rural Japan.” PlayStation’s official game page lists it for PS5.
What activities are in Oshima Coast?
For planning purposes, Ghost-of-Yotei.com’s regional guide, accessed in 2026, counts these activities in Oshima Coast. These are guide counts, not official PlayStation statistics.

The map guide reports 310 collectibles and activities across the whole game. Its listed Oshima Coast counts are useful completion-planning figures, but the sources do not independently validate them.
A practical Oshima Coast sweep
Use this as a flexible order, not a route that guarantees every collectible. Activity locations described in the walkthrough can become permanent fast-travel stations once entered, so open the map, track a nearby point of interest, follow the guiding wind, and use known fast-travel points to limit backtracking. Adjust the order around your position and what you want to earn next.

1. Clear Saito Camps along your route
Deal with camps you encounter while moving through the region. The dedicated GameFAQs guide counts five, including examples at Miyama Village and Kasuga Village. Liberating a camp opens an Altar of Reflection, which you can honor for a Technique Point. Consult the Saito Camps walkthrough for location-specific directions.
2. Choose progression activities by the reward you need
Fit the open-world activities into your travel rather than detouring for a single rigid sequence: visit hot springs for health, complete Bamboo Strikes for Spirit, and honor Altars for Technique Points. The regional guide lists two hot springs, two Bamboo Strikes, and eight Altars.

3. Solve the Reliquary of Faith near the entrance
The Reliquary is northwest of Miyama Village and east of the Oshima Coast entrance. Face all four fox statues toward Mount Yōtei. The documented rotation sequence is:
- Rotate the center statue once.
- Rotate the right statue once.
- Return to the center statue and rotate it twice.
The reward is the Charm of Mount Yōtei, or an upgrade if you already own it. See the Reliquary of Faith guide.

4. Climb Budding Grace Shrine when you are ready
This is the region’s shrine climb, in southeast Oshima Coast and southwest of the Esan Inlet map label. Follow the torii-gate approach, using jumps, handholds, and grapples. At the blocked cliff fissure, use the hook to move the boulders and get through. Honoring the shrine awards the Charm of Takemikazuchi, which the guide describes as having a moderate chance to call a lightning strike on a nearby enemy, with a 30-second cooldown between successful strikes. 5. Add optional tales when they fit your route
A Promise of Treasure begins in Benten Port. Speak with the family in the two-story building beside the orange-leaved tree, follow the map to a rocky alcove, defeat the bandits, then return to the father.

Youth Under Fire begins near Tokuyama Hills. Escort refugees with Taro toward Benten Port and defeat the outlaw groups; a later group includes muskets. These tales offer story content rather than a required step in the regional activity sweep. See the side-tale walkthroughs.
6. Check the bounty board for Wayward Oni Raiders
The bounty guide identifies this sequence as The New Lord. It becomes available from Shiro at Matsumae Residences after you complete Shiro the Swindler in Ishikari Plain and reach Oshima Coast through The Saito Brothers. Visit Lord Kato’s Estate, investigate at the northern Oshima Coast Entrance, return to the estate, ride with Shiro, then defeat the raiders at the beach. The stated reward is 750 coins and Shiro’s Straw Hat. Follow the New Lord tale walkthrough.
