They can be collected in any order, but several are gated behind mysteries, fieldwork, story progress, or the delivery of all 10 Stelae. The numbered route below follows the guide count and identifies whether each relic is a pickup or a reward. The broader Gizeh collectible count is 227, but that includes other collectible types.
Before you start: what the relic hunt unlocks
Finding your first Ancient Relic starts the Riddles of the Ancients discovery. Gameranx describes the relics as required for the game’s secret ending. The numbered order below is a route reference, not a required collection order.
Some entries are rewards rather than items sitting at a location. In particular, the Haunted Tomb, Seat of Eternity, and Stelae steps require completing their associated activity before the relic is awarded.
Gizeh Ancient Relic locations, #1–#5

#1 — Haunted Tomb reward
In the Workers’ Area, collect the Haunting Report, Tomb Photograph notes, and Haunted Tomb Key. Use the key to enter the Haunted Tomb west of the Workers’ Area and complete it to receive the relic. This is a mystery reward, not an open-world pickup.

#2 — West of the Great Sphinx
Look for a hole in the dunes west of the Great Sphinx. Use the whip-accessible opening to descend, then take the north corridor to reach the relic.

#3 — Sphinx tomb, after the Gold Mask and Trial of Light
During the Sanctuary of the Guardians fieldwork, continue through the Sphinx tomb. One relic is found after the Gold Mask/Trial of Light section.

#4 — Sphinx tomb, later progression
Continue through the same fieldwork and tomb route to find the next relic at a separate point in the progression.

#5 — Near the Protector Stele
The third relic in the Sphinx tomb route is near the Protector Stele. These three relics are spaced through the fieldwork; check each stage rather than expecting them together in one room.

#6 — Locked chest north of Khentkawes Dig
Search the wooden building north of Khentkawes Dig. The relic is inside a locked chest; enter code 3262.

#7 — Khentkawes ruins
From the dig, follow the blue wire into the ruins. Traverse the passage and cross the gap to reach the relic.

#8 — Seat of Eternity Mystery reward
Find the Canopic Jars and place them as required for the Seat of Eternity Mystery. Completing the mystery awards the relic.

#9 — Voss’s Office, upper floor
In the Nazi Compound, search behind the boxes on the upper floor of Voss’s Office.

#10 — Safe on the compound’s ground floor
Find the safe on the ground floor of the Nazi Compound and open it with code 40926.

#11 — All 10 Stelae delivered
Collect all 10 Stelae and turn them in to the delivery boy in the Workers’ Area. The relic is the completion reward for the full set.
Gizeh Ancient Relic locations, #12–#15: the cave route
These four relics are on a later cave route, so reaching Gizeh alone is not enough to collect them. Follow the story into the cave sections and watch for side paths as well as the main route.

#12 — After the Chamber of Resonance
Continue beyond the Chamber of Resonance to find the relic along the cave progression.

#13 — Three-Eyed Gate room
In the Three-Eyed Gate room, take the side path to reach this relic rather than continuing only along the main route.

#14 — Abyss Cavern relic puzzle door
In the Abyss Cavern, use collected relics on the puzzle board to open the stone door. The relic is behind that door; it is not simply beside the main path.

#15 — Swing-and-climb route
Continue through the cave and take the swing-and-climb route to the final relic.
How to open the Abyss Cavern relic door
PowerPyx’s walkthrough describes a board where relics are inserted into slots and rotated until adjacent slots, or a horizontal or vertical line of slots, pop out. Its method is to work through the board with the relics you have collected; it also gives a four-relic arrangement as an optional solution. Use the board’s response to guide your next move, and keep trying different placements and rotations if you do not have the full set. The puzzle door is the access point to relic #14.
If the relic counter is stuck at 14/15
Bethesda’s Update 3, published February 20, 2025, fixed an issue where collecting the last relic for Riddles of the Ancients did not update the UI counter. The update also addressed missing relic markers on some maps. If your discoveries appear complete but the counter remains at 14/15, check your quest journal and map, then make sure the game is updated before retracing every location. The patch note documents those fixes but does not establish that every possible counter issue in later versions is resolved. The relics are not permanently missable, according to the guides.
