In the original Goat Simulator, quests, golden trophies, and platform achievements are three related but separate completion goals. Start with the in-game quest log, collect the trophies available on your maps, and track achievements against the list for your platform and edition. Counts and directions vary by release, so confirm your version before following a location guide.
First, confirm which version you are playing
This guide covers the original Goat Simulator, not Goat Simulator 3. The maps, task labels, collectible placements, and external achievement lists can differ between PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and bundled or DLC editions. In particular, the GameFAQs walkthrough linked below is described as an Xbox 360/Xbox One guide, while its URL now identifies a PS5 Goat Simulator Remastered page; treat its directions as release-specific rather than universal.

Before using any checklist or map route, note your platform, edition, and which maps or DLC are installed. For exact achievements, use the platform’s own list. Steam’s Goat Simulator achievements page displays 127 achievements as of its 2026 page observation; that total is for Steam and should not be applied to Xbox, PlayStation, or every edition.
How quests differ from achievements
The in-game quest menu tracks objectives within the game. Platform achievements are tracked separately by Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, or another platform. Some objectives overlap, but finishing the quest log does not automatically mean every platform achievement is unlocked.

Quest terminology and structure also depend on the map or add-on:
- GoatVille and Goat City Bay: the quest overview lists objectives as available from the start.
- Goat MMO Simulator: quests begin through NPCs and may have multiple parts.
- GoatZ: includes regular quests and quests that appear only during an outbreak.
- Waste of Space: calls its quests “missions.”
- PAYDAY: uses “pranks” for its objectives.
Use the in-game quest menu for the objectives in your current map, then maintain a separate checklist for achievements. Steam’s list includes action- and location-based entries such as “Do no evil,” “Finish all wallrun quest,” and “Visit 5 trampolines in one jump, bouncing on each trampoline once.” Check the wording on your platform, since names and conditions can vary.

Where to find golden trophies
The Official Goat Simulator Wiki reports these golden trophy totals for three areas:

These figures describe the areas listed on the Official Goat Simulator Wiki trophy page; they are not a complete count for every edition, bundle, or DLC map. Completing an area’s set also completes its trophy quest and awards new mutators.

Trophies can be collected without mutators. If traversal is proving difficult, the wiki notes that Angel Goat and Double Jump can help with some jumps, but neither is required.
A reliable route for completing quests and achievements
- Open the quest menu for the current map. Identify its available objectives and any quest that requires an NPC interaction or a sequence of tasks.
- Explore while completing movement and trick objectives. Handle straightforward actions as you encounter them, and keep the platform achievement list open separately so you can notice objectives the quest menu does not track.
- Work through map-specific quests. In Goat MMO Simulator, look for NPC quest starters and follow multi-part tasks through to their stated completion. For DLC, use its own terminology and objective flow rather than assuming the base-game structure applies.
- Collect trophies with a route that matches your release. Mark each pickup as soon as you collect it. If an area has a trophy quest, use that as your collection checklist and revisit only locations you have not confirmed.
- Review unfinished platform achievements. Compare the remaining entries with the platform’s own descriptions and return to the map or activity that satisfies each condition.
Using a walkthrough without following the wrong directions
The GameFAQs walkthrough contains objective steps and numbered GoatVille and Goat City Bay trophy locations for the Xbox 360/Xbox One release identified in the guide. It reports 30 trophies in each of those two maps, tied to the trophy quest and the achievements Try Hard and I Freaking Love Goats.
Do not treat its numbered locations, menu options, mutators, quest names, or unlock conditions as guaranteed PC or PlayStation directions. The walkthrough itself warns of platform differences, including additional maps on Steam and changes to collectibles and tasks. If your version does not match, use its landmarks only as leads and verify each pickup in your own game.

There is no single achievement total that applies to every release. Steam’s live stats page reports 127 entries, while Xbox and other platform lists use their own names and conditions. A trophy-set achievement listed for one release may not establish what another platform requires. For a complete run, treat your platform’s achievement list as authoritative and use in-game quests and map trophy sets as separate checklists.
