God of War Ragnarök launched on PC on September 19, 2024. The PC edition adds flexible display and upscaling options, includes New Game+ and the Valhalla DLC, and offers accessibility settings such as reduced puzzle hints and cinematic audio description. Here’s what the release includes and what Sony says your PC needs.
When did God of War Ragnarök launch on PC?
The PC version released on September 19, 2024. Sony announced it for Steam and the Epic Games Store in May 2024. Sony’s announcement described the release as including updates previously made available after the original launch.
What extra features does the PC version offer?
Resolution, frame rate and display options
Sony announced unlocked frame rates, support for true 4K on compatible PCs and displays, and compatibility with NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR and Intel XeSS. The PC version also supports 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios. These options depend on compatible hardware and displays; their availability does not guarantee a particular frame rate or image quality on every setup. Sony’s PC announcement lists the advertised features.
Included game content
The PC release includes New Game+ and God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla, alongside post-launch updates. Sony also described Digital Deluxe Edition digital items, including in-game cosmetics, a digital soundtrack and a digital mini artbook. Those are digital edition contents, not physical merchandise. Accessibility and puzzle settings
Two settings highlighted for the PC release were reduced puzzle hints and Cinematic Audio Description. Reduced puzzle hints lowers how often companions offer hints; Cinematic Audio Description describes visual events during cinematics, adding context for players with low vision. Santa Monica Studio said the settings would soon be added to console versions as well. The studio’s September 18, 2024 post explains the additions.
What PC specs does God of War Ragnarök require?
Santa Monica Studio’s published requirements set five target tiers. They are official targets, not independent benchmark results. Every tier specifies Windows 10 64-bit and a 190 GB SSD; RAM is 8 GB at minimum and 16 GB for the other listed tiers.

These processor and GPU recommendations, along with the operating-system and storage requirements, come from Santa Monica Studio’s PC system requirements, updated August 13, 2024. Use the tier closest to your intended resolution, settings and average frame-rate goal when checking a PC; the minimum row is not a guide to performance at higher targets. The 190 GB SSD requirement is storage space, not a promise that a faster drive will raise frame rates.

Current PlayStation Support says account linking is optional. Linking a PlayStation account provides the Armor of the Black Bear set, trophies and friend management. This differs from Sony’s 2024 launch communications, which said a PlayStation Network account was required; for current account-linking guidance, consult PlayStation Support’s PC support page.
