What did individual critics say?
The examples available illustrate positive assessments, but they should not be mistaken for a full analysis of all 35 reviews. NZGamer gave the game 82/100 on September 16, 2016, describing it as “Deep and rewarding.” Everyeye.it rated it 78/100 on September 1, 2016; its review excerpt noted the delayed Western arrival but said the game remained enjoyable, pointing to its quantity of missions and modes.
GameSpot’s PS4 review, published September 22, 2016, scored it 8/10. The outlet called it “An accomplished, remastered sequel to the first God Eater” and highlighted its roster of otherworldly beasts. These are snapshots of particular reviews, not evidence that critics generally agreed on those strengths.

What kind of game were critics reviewing?
God Eater 2: Rage Burst is a monster-hunting action RPG. Players fight Aragami using God Arcs that change between melee weapons and firearms. Bandai Namco highlighted more than 100 Blood Arts and cooperative hunts with up to three friends in its western-release announcement.
That combat-and-hunting setup helps frame the review record: the game centers on repeated encounters, weapon options and cooperative play. Bandai Namco also promoted “100 hours of gameplay content,” a publisher marketing claim attributed to its vice president of marketing, not an independently measured playtime figure.

When and where did it release?
Bandai Namco Entertainment America announced the Western release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and PC via Steam on August 30, 2016. Steam lists August 29, 2016, a one-day difference between the two sources. Steam identifies BANDAI NAMCO Studio, SHIFT and QLOC as developers and BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment as publisher.
At launch, the publisher said GOD EATER: Resurrection was included with every Steam purchase of Rage Burst; Steam’s current store page also advertises Resurrection with purchase. Store bundles can vary or change, so check the live listing for the platform and region before buying.

How should you interpret the score?
Metacritic’s 69/100 is a critic aggregate, not a direct measure of whether every player will enjoy the game. The higher PS4 subset and the mixed all-platform distribution are useful context, but neither predicts an individual player’s response.
Steam’s user-review percentage measures a different group and uses a different method; it should not be treated as a competing critic score. At retrieval, Steam showed 85% positive among 1,824 English-language user reviews and 88% among 18 recent reviews. Those dynamic user figures are not evidence of critic consensus and may change.
