No. The 2027 game is God of War Laufey, with Faye (Laufey) as its playable lead—not a Thor-led adventure. The $1,599 figure belongs to an unverified claim about a separate Thor collectible; Prime 1 Studio’s official listing gives the statue’s price as ¥325,490（税込）.
Is Thor the main character in the 2027 God of War game?
Thor is not the protagonist of God of War Laufey. PlayStation describes Faye as “A warrior who went toe-to-toe with Thor, and a match for the Ghost of Sparta,” making Thor part of her established history rather than the playable lead of the new release.

Faye awakens after death in the Everywhen, an afterlife of the gods. She then discovers that plans created to protect Kratos and Atreus are in danger. Santa Monica Studio says the game expands the God of War universe by revealing the story of a character whose past has largely remained untold.

Can you buy a physical PS5 copy?
Yes. PlayStation lists the Standard Edition as available digitally or physically for PS5. The Digital Deluxe Edition is described as digital, so buyers seeking a disc should look for the physical Standard Edition and verify local stock and pricing in their country.
What the $1,599 headline gets wrong
The headline combines two different announcements: an officially dated PS5 game centered on Faye and a separately produced Thor statue. The game’s confirmed lead is Faye, the statue is based on Thor from God of War Ragnarök, and the statue’s manufacturer-published price is in Japanese yen. Until a seller or manufacturer publishes a dollar conversion or regional price, $1,599 remains unverified rather than an official cost.
