It added three Ant Queens, New Game+, new items and quality-of-life features, and brought the game to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch with cross-play across those platforms, Xbox, and PC. Obsidian called it the game’s last planned content update, while saying it would continue refining the experience.
What does Grounded update 1.4 add?
Fully Yoked adds new late-game choices, replay features, equipment, and platform support. Obsidian’s April 16, 2024 announcement and patch notes describe the update’s gameplay and quality-of-life changes.

Three Ant Queens and colony choices
The red, black, and fire ant colonies each gained a Queen. These are not bosses to fight: players can bring an offering to befriend or betray a Queen. That choice affects the rewards and how the colony reacts. The update also adds 12 Ant Queen-related building pieces, three baby ant pets, and the Antbassador mutation.
New Game+ and the REMIX.R
New Game+ unlocks after defeating the Broodmother, Mantis, and Wasp Queen and completing the Javamatic fight. Players activate it through the REMIX.R. Bases, items, and recipe unlocks carry into the remixed yard, where stronger infused creatures, randomized encounters, new trinkets and upgrades, and randomized Milk Molar locations change subsequent runs.

More gear, achievements, and voice-over
Fully Yoked adds over 20 items and pieces of equipment, more than 20 trinkets, and four achievements. It also introduces full Japanese voice-over.
Quality-of-life and Playgrounds changes
The update includes pet recovery, a world object-capacity meter, the ability to load a different save during multiplayer, and improvements to Playgrounds, Grounded‘s creation mode.
Is Fully Yoked free, and is it really Grounded’s final update?
Fully Yoked was free for all players. Obsidian described it as the game’s last planned content update, not as the end of all support. In its April 16 announcement, the studio said it would keep refining and perfecting the game. That leaves room for maintenance and refinements; the wording does not promise further content updates.

The 1.4 launch brought Grounded to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. Cross-play is supported across Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC, so players on those platforms can play together. Obsidian announced the platform expansion in February 2024; Xbox Wire also covered the update and platform launch in its March 25, 2024 announcement.

Why was the update a milestone for the game?
When Obsidian announced the new platform releases in February 2024, it reported that Grounded had passed 20 million players since early access began in 2020. That is the milestone reported at the time, not a current player count.
