Then use the regions below as broad places to search—not guaranteed spawn coordinates. The daily targets rotate, so a location list cannot tell you which animals are required today.
How to see today’s animal targets
- Go to the LS Tourist Board in Blaine County, marked by a camera icon, and check the current Wildlife Photography list.
- Note the three animals shown for the day.
- Use the search areas below to look for those targets. The board identifies what to photograph; it does not replace location guidance.
Rockstar says the daily challenge has three targets, with a reward for each animal photographed and a bonus for photographing all three in one day. The cited update notes do not specify a fixed cash or RP amount, so rewards should be checked in-game rather than assumed. Rockstar’s April 4, 2024 Title Update 1.68 notes describe the mechanic. Rockstar later directed players to the LS Tourist Board for targets in its Neighborhood Watch event guidance.

Animal locations in GTA Online
These are search areas compiled from community maps and guides, not confirmed exact spawn points. An animal may not be present when you arrive; search the surrounding habitat and prioritize the targets currently shown on the board.

The areas are examples from the GTADB Wildlife Photography map. Other guides add examples such as chicken-hawks in Blaine County and deer in forested areas including Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness and Paleto Forest. Treat all of them as leads rather than guarantees: GTABase’s challenge guide lists the broader species pool, while Gamelud’s location guide says its map covers 13 of the 15 possible animal types.

Which animals can appear?
GTABase lists 15 animal types associated with the challenge. That is the pool, not a promise that every type will be on today’s list.

Platform availability and unlock
Rockstar’s April 2024 notes introduced the challenge on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Later official Wildlife Photography event materials also include PC Enhanced. The cited official notes do not establish availability on older console editions, so check the feature in your own edition if it is not visible. Rockstar’s update notes also say the first challenge photograph unlocks the Declasse Park Ranger for purchase; the vehicle is not stated as a requirement for taking wildlife photos.

Temporary event guidance should not be mistaken for a permanent spawn rule. During the September 12, 2025 Neighborhood Watch event, Rockstar highlighted the Tataviam Mountains foothills and nearby backyards as places to search for Wildlife Photography targets. That was dated event advice, not proof that animals always spawn there. Event bonuses and rewards can change; check current in-game details before relying on a specific payout.
