It adds rotating rewards, convenience features, a GTA+ Games Library, and an automatic GTA$500,000 deposit at each renewal. The membership is tied to the platform and store where you buy it: a PlayStation purchase does not unlock benefits on Xbox or PC.
PS4, Xbox One, and PC Legacy are not eligible, including legacy versions played through backward compatibility. Your access continues until the current billing period ends after cancellation; claimed items remain on your account, while unclaimed rewards and ongoing membership perks do not.

What GTA+ includes
GTA+ is an optional subscription layered onto Grand Theft Auto Online rather than a replacement for the game itself. You need a compatible copy of the game, a linked Rockstar Games account, and an internet connection. Buying Grand Theft Auto V does not automatically include GTA+, and joining GTA+ does not remove the requirement to own or access an eligible game edition.
The membership combines permanent account conveniences with rewards that rotate during limited event periods. Rockstar can change the vehicle, clothing, property, discount and other claimable items from one period to the next, so a benefit shown in an older article may no longer be available. Check Rockstar’s live GTA+ benefits page for the current reward and its claim deadline.

- Rotating GTA Online vehicles, clothing, properties and other event claimables.
- A rotating GTA+ Games Library while each included title remains listed.
These features are not all delivered in the same way. Some are standing privileges, some are discounts, and some must be claimed before a particular event period expires.
Which platforms and editions are eligible?
Rockstar currently lists three eligible platform families. The edition you launch matters as much as the hardware you own.

Backward compatibility does not change the edition’s eligibility. Running a PS4 or Xbox One version on newer hardware still leaves you in an unsupported version. On PC, confirm that the launcher identifies your installation as GTAV Enhanced before subscribing for PC benefits.

GTA+ is attached to the platform and storefront account used for the purchase. Rockstar’s terms state: “Subscriptions are limited to a specific platform.” A membership purchased through one store therefore does not unlock GTA+ on another platform, even if you use the same Rockstar Games account and own the game in both places.
For example, a subscription bought for PlayStation 5 cannot be used to claim rewards on PC Enhanced, and an Xbox Series X|S membership does not carry over to PlayStation. The practical rule is to buy GTA+ on the platform where you will actually play and claim the benefits.

Rockstar also warns that availability can vary by platform, device and region. Country availability and age restrictions may differ, and PC Enhanced availability is not guaranteed in every region. A compatible device, persistent internet connection and a valid Rockstar Games account linked to the store account with the active membership may be required.
Do you need another console subscription?
On consoles, GTA+ does not necessarily replace the platform’s own online multiplayer requirement. Rockstar says a separate paid console platform subscription may be required to use online features. Check the current PlayStation or Xbox requirements for your account and region before assuming that GTA+ alone provides online access.
How the benefits are delivered in GTA Online
Both characters can receive the membership
Rockstar Customer Support says, “GTA+ benefits apply to both Grand Theft Auto Online characters on your chosen, subscribed platform.” This means the membership is not restricted to only one character slot. Claimable monthly benefits still need to be claimed separately for each character when the offer allows it. Your Maze Bank balance is shared, so money deposited there is available to both characters.
Recurring conveniences versus event rewards
Features such as the Vinewood Club access, vehicle-request privileges, taxi advantages and daily Lucky Wheel benefit are ongoing membership features. Event rewards are different: Rockstar introduces new GTA Online benefit periods roughly every three to six weeks, and each period can contain its own claimable vehicle, clothing, property or discount.
The event schedule is a cadence description, not a promise that every period will last exactly the same number of days. The item, eligibility conditions and deadline shown on the live benefits page control what you can claim. If a period ends before you claim an offered item, that item is forfeited even if you paid for the membership during part of the period.

GTA+ Games Library
The Games Library is a rotating catalogue rather than a permanent game purchase. You can use a listed title only while it remains in the library and while your membership is active on the platform where the title is offered. Removing a game from the catalogue or ending the membership ends that library access. Library availability can also differ by platform and region.
When the GTA$500,000 arrives
Rockstar Customer Support says GTA$500,000 is deposited automatically each time your membership renews. The trigger is the subscription’s renewal and billing date, not the start of a GTA Online event. If your renewal occurs halfway through an event period, the deposit still follows your normal billing date.
The money is placed in Maze Bank automatically when the renewal is billed. Because the amount is tied to each renewal, a failed payment, cancelled membership or interrupted billing cycle does not create an extra deposit. Review your storefront’s billing date if you are checking when the next GTA$500,000 should appear.
How to claim rotating benefits
- Confirm that you are launching the eligible platform edition: PS5, Xbox Series X|S or PC Enhanced.
- Open the current GTA+ benefits information and note the event’s end date and any character-specific instructions.
- Enter GTA Online on the subscribed platform and follow the offer’s claim path, such as the listed property, vehicle, clothing or service location.
- Repeat the claim for your second character when the offer is available to both characters but requires separate claims.
- Verify that the item, discount or property appears before the event deadline. Keep the item once it is successfully claimed.
Do not rely on a reward appearing automatically. Some standing privileges activate with membership, but rotating claimables generally require an explicit claim during the active period.
What happens when you cancel?
Cancellation stops the next automatic renewal; it does not normally end access immediately. Rockstar says GTA+ access remains available through the end of the current billing period. The account outcome depends on whether a benefit was already claimed.

If you rejoin later, you become eligible for the event and offers active at that time. You do not receive the events that ran while your membership was inactive.

PC purchased through Rockstar Launcher
Manage the membership inside the Rockstar Games Launcher for GTAV Enhanced. Use the launcher’s account or subscription management controls to turn off recurring billing and review the next renewal date.
Other PC storefronts and consoles
Subscriptions bought through another PC storefront, PlayStation or Xbox are managed through that platform’s own subscription service. Sign in to the store account that paid for GTA+ and use its recurring-payment or subscription settings. Cancelling in a different Rockstar account or on a different platform does not cancel the active purchase.
Cancellation after a ban or suspension
A GTA Online ban or suspension does not automatically cancel GTA+. Rockstar says subscribers must cancel manually. Check the relevant storefront even if you can no longer access online play, because recurring billing can otherwise continue until it is stopped through the account that purchased the membership.
Common platform and account problems
The membership is active but no benefits appear
- Check that you launched the supported edition, not PS4, Xbox One or PC Legacy.
- Confirm that the store account with the membership is linked to the Rockstar Games account you are using.
- Verify that you are playing on the same platform where the subscription was purchased.
- Restart the game and launcher after the purchase so entitlement information can refresh.
- Check regional and age restrictions if the membership or a particular offer is missing.
A reward disappeared from the benefits page
Rotating offers are time-limited. Compare the current event end date with the date you attempted to claim the item. An expired offer cannot normally be recovered by cancelling and resubscribing; a returning member receives the then-active event instead.

The renewal deposit is late
Use the storefront’s billing history to confirm that the renewal actually completed. The GTA$500,000 deposit follows that billing date, not an event launch. If the payment is pending or failed, resolve the storefront billing issue first and then contact Rockstar Support with the transaction details.
Game ownership, editions and physical copies
A physical or digital copy of Grand Theft Auto V for PS5 can provide the underlying game, but it does not include GTA+. The same distinction applies on Xbox and PC. On PC, a listing must explicitly correspond to GTAV Enhanced for GTA+ benefits to work; ownership of PC Legacy alone is insufficient.
Before purchasing either the game or the membership, verify the edition shown in your library, the country in which the account is registered and the platform account that will be charged. These checks prevent the most common mismatch: paying for GTA+ on one storefront while playing an unsupported edition or another platform.

A practical decision checklist
- Platform: Are you playing on PS5, Xbox Series X|S or PC Enhanced?
- Store: Will you buy and manage the subscription through the same platform account you use to play?
- Account: Is that store account linked to the correct Rockstar Games account?
- Online access: Does your console account also have the required paid online-multiplayer subscription?
- Region: Is GTA+ available in your country and for your age group?
- Timing: Can you claim limited rewards before the current event ends?
- Cancellation: Have you claimed every reward you want before the billing period expires?
The bottom line for prospective subscribers
GTA+ is most useful when you regularly play GTA Online on one supported platform and will actively claim rotating offers. Its strongest fixed benefits are convenience features, while its most important timing rules concern the GTA$500,000 renewal deposit and event deadlines. Treat the membership as platform-specific, confirm that you are using GTAV Enhanced on PC, and claim desired rewards before cancelling. Items you already claim stay with your account, but membership privileges, future rewards, unclaimed offers and Games Library access end when the paid period ends.
