“The program can’t start because gtxt_acq.dll is missing from your computer.”
gtxt_acq.dll is a third-party component from KNC One’s old TV-Station GlobeText software, commonly associated with GlobeTV, GlobeTV Digital, GlobeDigital, and KNC One TV-Station cards. It is not a Windows file, Microsoft runtime, or general-purpose DLL.
The safest repair is to restore the complete KNC One application and matching TV-card driver from the original installation media or a trustworthy manufacturer archive. Do not begin by downloading gtxt_acq.dll and copying it into System32.

- GlobeTV or GlobeDigital is still installed: repair the application, then restart Windows.
- The error began after antivirus detection: check Windows Security Protection history and restore the file only if it came from your original trusted installation.
- You recently reinstalled Windows, moved the program, or changed the TV card: reinstall the complete application and matching driver.
- The file exists, but Windows still reports it as missing: the program may be using the wrong folder, a dependency may be missing, or the DLL architecture may not match the application.
- You removed the KNC One card years ago: remove the orphaned application or startup entry instead of trying to rebuild obsolete software.
- Windows itself has other corruption symptoms: run DISM and SFC, but do not expect them to recreate this third-party file.
What gtxt_acq.dll belongs to
The file is identified as GlobeText Dynamic Link Library and is part of TV-Station GlobeText, developed by KNC One GmbH. KNC One TV-Station hardware was sold with GlobeTV software for television-card functions.
That makes gtxt_acq.dll an application-private file. It normally belongs beside the relevant GlobeTV executable or inside one of the program’s own folders. It should not normally be placed in:
C:WindowsSystem32C:WindowsSysWOW64- another unrelated application’s folder
Public file records commonly describe this file as a 32-bit Windows DLL, although conflicting metadata exists. Treat the architecture as reported rather than proven until the actual file is inspected. The important point is that a 32-bit GlobeTV application needs compatible 32-bit application files.
Typical messages include:
- “The program can’t start because gtxt_acq.dll is missing from your computer.”
- “This application failed to start because gtxt_acq.dll was not found.”
- “Error loading gtxt_acq.dll. The specified module could not be found.”
- “The code execution cannot proceed because gtxt_acq.dll was not found.”
- “gtxt_acq.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.”
- “The procedure entry point could not be located in gtxt_acq.dll.”
The last two messages can indicate a damaged file, an incompatible release, or a missing dependency rather than a simple missing file.

This is the most likely solution because the DLL belongs to the KNC One application.
Identify the parent application
- Press Windows and type Installed apps.
- Open Installed apps.
- Search for:
GlobeTVGlobeTV DigitalGlobeDigitalTV-StationGlobeText- another KNC One television program
- If you do not find it, open Control Panel.
- Select Programs > Programs and Features.
- Look for the same names in the installed-program list.
Also inspect the shortcut that produces the error:
- Right-click the shortcut.
- Select Properties.
- On the Shortcut tab, note the Target and Start in folders.
- Do not change them yet. They help identify which copy of GlobeTV is being launched.
Try the built-in repair option
If the program appears under Installed apps:
- Select the three dots beside the application.
- Choose Advanced options, if available.
- Select Repair.
- Start GlobeTV again.
Traditional desktop applications may use a different path:
- Open Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Select the KNC One or GlobeTV entry.
- Choose Change or Repair, if offered.
- Follow the installer prompts.
- Restart Windows.
A successful repair should restore the application’s private files and leave the TV-card driver available. Test the program from its original shortcut rather than launching a copied executable.
Reinstall the complete package
If repair is unavailable or fails:
- Obtain the original KNC One installation disc, backup, or a trustworthy archive of the original installation media.
- Confirm that the media is intended for your TV-card model.
- Uninstall the existing GlobeTV or GlobeDigital installation.
- Restart Windows.
- Install the application again.
- Install the matching KNC One TV-card driver when the installer offers it.
- Restart Windows again.
- Launch the program as installed.
The exact KNC installer package and a currently supported Windows 10 or Windows 11 download were not verified. Do not substitute a random DLL for the missing installation package.

Compatibility mode may help an old setup program, but it cannot create a modern driver that no longer supports the hardware.
Fix 2: Check Windows Security quarantine
Antivirus software can quarantine a legitimate old application file, especially when the program is obsolete or uses an unusual installer.
- Open Start > Settings.
- Select Privacy & security.
- Open Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Choose Protection history.
- Look for an event involving
gtxt_acq.dll, GlobeTV, GlobeDigital, or the KNC One installer. - Expand the event and review its path and detection details.
Restore the file only when all of the following are true:
- it came from your original trusted installation;
- the path belongs to the GlobeTV installation;
- you understand why Windows Security detected it;
- the complete application is being restored, not an isolated file from an unknown source.
Microsoft warns that restoring a genuinely malicious file can put the device at risk. If the file came from an unknown download, leave it quarantined, remove the suspect program, and perform a full scan.
After restoring a trusted file, reinstall or repair the complete application. A restored DLL may still be damaged, incompatible, or missing its dependencies.
Fix 3: Reinstall the matching TV-card driver
A GlobeTV program may start only when its KNC One card driver and application files agree. A missing driver can also produce misleading startup errors.
Check Device Manager
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand:
- Sound, video and game controllers
- Display adapters
- Other devices
- Look for a KNC One, TV-Station, tuner, capture, or unknown device.
- Right-click the relevant device and select Properties.
- Check the General tab for a device status message.
- Open the Driver tab and record the provider and driver date before changing anything.
If the device has a warning icon, the driver is missing, disabled, or incompatible.
Reinstall the driver
Use the driver from the original KNC One installation media or a verified manufacturer archive matching the card model.
- In Device Manager, right-click the affected device.
- Select Uninstall device.
- If Windows offers to remove the driver package, select that option only when you have a replacement installer ready.
- Restart Windows.
- Run the matching driver installer as administrator.
- Restart again.
- Open Device Manager and confirm that the warning icon is gone.
- Start GlobeTV.
Do not install a driver merely because its name contains “TV tuner.” The wrong driver can leave the application unable to communicate with the card.

Manually searching for old driver versions, identifying the exact card revision, and testing compatibility can take time. Outbyte Driver Updater can scan for outdated drivers; its free scan shows what it finds, while driver installation is handled by the full version. Reinstalling the matching KNC One package remains the definitive fix for this application.
If no compatible driver exists for your version of Windows, the missing-DLL message may be only the first symptom of obsolete hardware. Compatibility mode can help the application interface, but it cannot guarantee that the card will function.
Fix 4: Check the application folder and duplicate installations
Windows normally searches the executable’s folder before system locations when loading an application DLL. A moved program or duplicate installation can therefore cause the wrong copy to launch.
- Right-click the GlobeTV shortcut.
- Select Properties.
- On the Shortcut tab, select Open File Location.
- Check whether the folder contains the GlobeTV executable and its related files.
- Search File Explorer for additional folders named
GlobeTV,GlobeDigital,KNC, orTV-Station. - Check both:
C:Program FilesC:Program Files (x86)
If multiple copies exist, do not combine their DLLs. The executable and gtxt_acq.dll should come from the same application release.
Do not copy the DLL into System32, SysWOW64, or every folder that reports an error. On 64-bit Windows, those folders have different system roles, and indiscriminate copying can create conflicts.
If the original program directory was moved manually, uninstall the application and reinstall it to its intended location.
Fix 5: Check for a missing dependency
“The specified module could not be found” does not always mean that gtxt_acq.dll itself is absent. Windows may have found the file but failed to load another DLL that it requires.
To investigate:
- Confirm that
gtxt_acq.dllexists in the application’s own folder. - Open Event Viewer by pressing Windows, typing
Event Viewer, and opening it. - Select Windows Logs > Application.
- Look for an error recorded at the time GlobeTV failed.
- Note any named module, runtime, or application fault.
You can also use a reputable dependency-analysis utility to inspect the executable and DLL. Use it to identify missing modules, not to download replacement files automatically.
Do not assume that a Visual C++ Redistributable is required. No public dependency inspection of this exact DLL was verified. Install or repair a Microsoft runtime only if:
- the error explicitly names a Microsoft runtime such as
msvcr70.dll,msvcp71.dll, orvcruntime140.dll; or - the original GlobeTV installer specifically requires it.
Microsoft’s current Visual C++ packages do not provide gtxt_acq.dll.
Fix 6: Check 32-bit and 64-bit compatibility
The available file records generally describe gtxt_acq.dll as a 32-bit DLL, though one record conflicts with that description. Do not rely on a filename or a download page to determine architecture.
Recommended Free Tools
Important rules:
- A 32-bit application cannot load a 64-bit DLL.
- A 64-bit application cannot load a 32-bit DLL.
- 64-bit Windows can run many 32-bit applications through WOW64.
- WOW64 does not make mismatched DLL architectures interchangeable.
If you have a known-good copy from the original installation, inspect it with a PE-binary inspection tool and compare it with the application executable. If the file reports a different architecture from the executable, reinstall the complete matching package rather than forcing the file into a Windows folder.
An architecture error often appears as:
- “not designed to run on Windows”
- “contains an error”
- “procedure entry point could not be located”
These messages can also result from mixing files from different GlobeTV releases.
Fix 7: Repair Windows components when Windows itself is damaged
SFC and DISM repair protected Windows components. They do not normally recreate a missing KNC One application file, but they are appropriate when Windows has broader corruption symptoms.
First install pending updates:
- Open Start > Settings.
- Select Windows Update.
- Choose Check for updates.
- Install available updates.
- Restart Windows.
Then run DISM:
- Press Start and type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for the operation to finish.
- Keep the window open and run:
sfc /scannow
- Wait until verification reaches 100 percent.
- Restart Windows.
- Test GlobeTV.
Do not close the Command Prompt while either scan is running. If SFC reports that it could not repair some files, restart and run it once more after DISM completes. If the scans report no integrity violations, return to repairing the GlobeTV installation.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsRepeatedly running SFC will not restore gtxt_acq.dll if the file was removed from the third-party application. Outbyte PC Repair can scan for broader Windows issues; its free scan identifies problems, while repairs are performed by the full version. For this file, reinstalling GlobeTV remains the definitive fix.
Do not use regsvr32 for this file
A DLL extension does not mean that a file must be registered.
regsvr32 is intended for self-registering COM or OLE DLLs that provide registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. An ordinary application library may not support those functions.
Do not run:
regsvr32 gtxt_acq.dll
regsvr32 /i gtxt_acq.dll
unless original KNC One documentation specifically requires registration and the file is confirmed to be a self-registering COM server. No such requirement has been verified for gtxt_acq.dll.

Running regsvr32 against an ordinary application DLL commonly produces another error and does not repair a missing dependency, wrong architecture, or incomplete GlobeTV installation.
Avoid random DLL download sites
Downloading a file with the right name is not a safe repair. An unrelated copy may have:
- the wrong version;
- the wrong 32-bit or 64-bit architecture;
- missing exports;
- incompatible dependencies;
- altered contents;
- malware.
A filename alone does not prove that a DLL is genuine. Do not rename another DLL to gtxt_acq.dll, place an unverified copy in Windows system folders, or combine files from different applications.
The safe sources are:
- the original KNC One installation disc;
- a backup made from the original trusted installation;
- a trustworthy archive of the matching manufacturer installation media;
- Microsoft sources for Windows components and Microsoft runtimes when the error specifically names them.
There is no verified current Microsoft or KNC One redistributable specifically for gtxt_acq.dll.
If the old software no longer works on Windows 11 or 10
The application may be too old for the current operating system even after the DLL is restored.
Try compatibility settings:
- Right-click the GlobeTV executable or shortcut.
- Select Properties.
- Open the Compatibility tab.
- Select Run this program in compatibility mode for.
- Choose an older Windows version.
- Select Run this program as an administrator if the program requires access to its installation folder or tuner hardware.
- Select Apply, then OK.
- Test the application.
If the TV card still does not work, inspect Device Manager for driver errors. You may need an older supported Windows environment with the original driver and hardware. Do not disable security protections or force unsigned drivers merely to make an obsolete card start.
If you no longer have the KNC One card, driver, or installer, the practical solution may be to uninstall GlobeTV and remove its orphaned startup entry:
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Uninstall GlobeTV or GlobeDigital.
- Open Task Manager.
- Select Startup apps.
- Disable a clearly identified KNC One or GlobeTV entry.
- Restart Windows.
If the problem began immediately after a recent software change, Windows System Restore may also help. It rolls back system files and settings without normally changing personal files.
FAQ
Is gtxt_acq.dll a Windows file?
No. It is associated with KNC One’s TV-Station GlobeText and related GlobeTV software. SFC and DISM are not expected to recreate it.
Which program installs it?
Usually GlobeTV, GlobeTV Digital, GlobeDigital, or related KNC One TV-Station software. Identify the exact application and card model before replacing anything.
Should I put it in System32 or SysWOW64?
No. Keep it with the verified application that installed it. Do not copy the same DLL into both folders.
Is the file 32-bit?
Multiple public records report Win32 or 32-bit, but conflicting metadata exists. Verify the actual file when architecture matters and restore it from the matching application package.

Not automatically. Install or repair one only when the error names a Microsoft runtime or the original installer requires it.
Why does Windows say the module is missing when the file is present?
A dependency may be missing, the program may be launching from another installation folder, or the DLL may be incompatible with the executable.
Can I register it with regsvr32?
Usually not. Registration is for self-registering COM/OLE DLLs, and no such requirement has been verified for this file.
What if no installer or compatible driver remains?
If the KNC One hardware and installation media are unavailable, remove the obsolete application and its orphaned startup entry. Restoring one DLL will not recreate the complete TV-card software stack.
