Halo’s official 2025 roadmap confirmed Year 4 of the Halo Championship Series (HCS) for Halo Infinite. The season used online Opens and regional qualifiers to build toward LAN events and the Halo World Championship (HaloWC), held in Seattle on October 24–26, 2025. It was also the final year of official HCS competition on Halo Infinite; Halo said some supported Halo Infinite tournaments would continue in 2026.
How the 2025 HCS season worked
The season kept an open-events format: teams competed in Opens and qualifiers for points that helped them qualify for HaloWC. HCS and Esports Engine/EFG administered the competition. The official roadmap said this arrangement was intended to avoid conflicts of interest. It covered North America, Europe, Mexico, and Australia/New Zealand, with regional paths distinguishing pool-play qualifiers from open-bracket qualifiers. Halo’s 2025 roadmap cautioned that listed dates were subject to change.
Key dates and events on the roadmap
| Event or stage | Roadmap date | Role or advertised prize pool |
|---|---|---|
| Arlington Major | April 18–20, 2025 | $250,000+ 4v4 prize pool; part of the North American route toward Arlington |
| HCS Open at DreamHack Dallas | May 23–25, 2025 | Open competition on the regional calendar |
| Salt Lake City Major | August 1–3, 2025 | $250,000+ 4v4 prize pool; part of the North American route toward Salt Lake City |
| Charlotte Major | October 3–5, 2025 | Final Major and main HaloWC qualifier |
| Halo World Championship, Seattle | October 24–26, 2025 | $1,000,000+ prize pool in the roadmap |
These are roadmap dates and advertised prize pools, not confirmation of final schedules or actual payouts. The calendar also included weekly Opens and qualifiers before Majors, as well as regional schedules for Europe, Mexico, and Australia/New Zealand. The HaloWC event page later described its championship prize pool as $1,000,000. The official HaloWC page also identifies the event as the conclusion of the 2025 season.
What happened at HaloWC 2025
HaloWC took place in Seattle on October 24–26, 2025. The roadmap presented it as a community-facing event with a Community Stage, special guests, developer panels, and festival-style activities. The event page also listed a $25,000 free-for-all (FFA), side tournaments across multiple Halo titles, cosplay showcases, crowd games, a free-play area, and merchandise. Its October 1 update said tickets had sold out; that is a retrospective status, not a current ticket offer.

Was 2025 the last year of HCS Halo Infinite?
Yes, for official HCS competition on Halo Infinite. In a later Halo Infinite esports update, Halo said the game would be retired from official HCS competition after the 2025 world champion was crowned. Esports Lead Tashi stated: “Year 4 will be the final Official HCS events for Halo Infinite.”
That did not mean all Halo Infinite competition would stop. Halo said it would continue supporting the game and its tournament scene in 2026, including online and LAN competition, prizing, and player travel. The same update said official HCS competition for a new title would not return in 2026. The distinction is between the end of the official HCS circuit for Halo Infinite and continued support for other competition around the game.

What the official season information establishes
The roadmap and later update confirm the season format, planned calendar, advertised event prize pools, and the end of official HCS competition on Halo Infinite. They do not establish the 2025 champion or final standings, so those results should not be inferred from the schedule or prize-pool announcements.
