A new Dead or Alive project was revealed during Sony’s State of Play on February 12, 2026, but the announcement coverage identifies it as “Dead or Alive New Project,” not Dead or Alive 7. Calling it DOA7 is a reasonable series-numbering inference, not a confirmed official title.
What was announced?
Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA revealed a new Dead or Alive project in a teaser during Sony’s State of Play on February 12, 2026. Contemporary coverage describes it as “Dead or Alive New Project” and connects the reveal with the franchise’s 30th anniversary. Game Informer and PC Gamer reported on the reveal.
The teaser’s campaign line, as carried by PC Gamer, was “The dawn of a new chapter awaits.” That phrase signals a new entry, but it does not establish a formal title or explain the game’s features.
Is the project officially called Dead or Alive 7?
The available announcement reports do not confirm Dead or Alive 7 as the official name. “DOA7” is a likely fan or press shorthand based on the series’ sequence, while the coverage uses “Dead or Alive New Project.” Until an official title is confirmed, it is more accurate to call it the new Dead or Alive project.

When will it release, and what platforms are confirmed?
The announcement coverage does not establish a release date or window, confirmed platforms, or detailed gameplay systems for the new project. The teaser was a reveal, not a full release or gameplay announcement; a specific launch timeframe or console and PC lineup cannot be stated from these reports.
Don’t confuse it with Dead or Alive 6 Last Round
Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is a separate release, not the name of the new project. An IGN report syndicated by Yahoo Tech said it was announced for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC with a June 25, 2026 release date. That announced date has passed; the report establishes the planned date and platforms, but not current store availability. Read the syndicated report.
