Polar Patriots is a Premium Warbond for Helldivers 2, first announced for May 9, 2024. Its announced rewards include three primary weapons, a pistol, an impact grenade, a booster, three armor sets, three capes and three emotes. It is not a limited-time release: PlayStation says previous Premium and Legendary Warbonds remain available to unlock with Super Credits.
What is the Polar Patriots Premium Warbond?
Polar Patriots is an in-game reward catalogue for Helldivers 2. PlayStation.Blog announced it on May 2, 2024, with a deployment date of May 9, 2024. The launch announcement said players need the base game, Super Credits and game progression to unlock its contents; it did not specify a Polar Patriots-specific progression threshold. PlayStation.Blog’s announcement describes the planned rewards, not their current balance or performance.

What is in the Polar Patriots Warbond?
The announced roster has three primary weapons, two other combat items, one booster and cosmetic rewards. The weapon descriptions below reflect the launch announcement and should not be read as current patch testing.
Weapons and utility
- AR-61 Tenderizer: a high-calibre assault rifle described as having stopping power and a limited magazine size.
- SMG-72 Pummeler: a slower-firing submachine gun with concussive rounds.
- PLAS-101 Purifier: a charge-up weapon described as dealing high damage.
- G-13 Incendiary Impact: a grenade that ignites an area on impact.
- P-113 Verdict: a semi-automatic pistol.
- Motivational Shocks: a booster intended to help Helldivers recover after being hit and slowed. The announcement says it offers little help against area effects such as EMS strikes.
Armor, capes and emotes
- Armor: CW-36 Winter Warrior (Servo-assisted passive), CW-22 Kodiak (Fortified passive) and CW-4 Arctic Ranger (Scout passive).
- Capes: Dissident’s Nightmare, Pinions of Everlasting Glory and Order of the Venerated Ballot.
- Emotes: Mime Instrumentation, Call the Helldivers and Distribute Ballots.
How do you unlock Polar Patriots?
- Own Helldivers 2, the base game. The Warbond is not a standalone boxed game add-on.
- Acquire Super Credits and use them in-game to unlock the Warbond. The launch announcement specifies paid Super Credits as an access requirement, while the current PlayStation page says Warbonds are available to unlock with Super Credits.
- Progress through the game to unlock Warbond content. PlayStation’s announcement does not name a specific progression requirement for Polar Patriots, so the exact threshold is not established there.
Is Polar Patriots still available, and how much does it cost?
Yes. PlayStation’s current Helldivers 2 page says Warbonds are not time-limited and that previous Premium and Legendary Warbonds remain available to unlock with Super Credits. The US PlayStation page lists Warbonds at 1,000 Super Credits. Its displayed Super Credit bundles are 150 for $1.99, 375 for $4.99, 1,000 for $9.99 and 2,100 for $19.99. To play, you need Helldivers 2 itself; the relevant physical product is the PS5 base game, not a boxed Polar Patriots add-on. Super Credits are the in-game currency used to unlock the Warbond.

The launch announcement establishes item names, armor passives and brief descriptions, but it does not establish current weapon balance, patch-specific performance or player preferences. Those can change with updates, so the roster alone is not enough to identify a best weapon or armor set for a particular mission. Check the current in-game item descriptions and patch context before making a build decision.
