HELLDIVERS 2 recorded about 92,000 concurrent players on Steam at its September 2026 peak, its highest monthly Steam peak since February, according to SteamCharts. That is a notable rebound in the game’s recent Steam activity—not an all-time record, and not a count of everyone playing across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
What the September player count measures
The figure is a Steam concurrent-player peak: the highest number of people Steam trackers recorded playing at the same time during September 2026. SteamCharts lists a peak of 92,006; SteamPlayerStats recorded 92,181 on September 22. The small difference reflects distinct tracker readings, so “about 92,000” is the clearest summary. SteamCharts and SteamPlayerStats track Steam activity, not the full player population across platforms.

SteamCharts’ monthly history shows September’s peak exceeded each monthly peak from March through August 2026. This makes it the strongest Steam peak in roughly seven months when comparing like with like: monthly concurrent peaks, rather than averages or cumulative player totals. SteamCharts describes its figures as Steam concurrent-player analysis and says it is not affiliated with Valve.
How it compares with Helldivers 2’s records
The September high is well below the game’s all-time Steam concurrent peak: SteamDB lists 458,709 players on February 24, 2024. The recent rise is therefore a return to a stronger level of activity compared with the preceding months, not a new record. SteamDB’s chart also provides historical Steam context; its chart times are shown in UTC.

Does this mean Helldivers 2 is active across all platforms?
The Steam charts cannot answer that by themselves. They do not count people playing on PS5 or Xbox, unique players over a period, or the total number of people who have ever played. A separate figure reported by TechRadar on August 13, 2026, attributed to Sony, put cumulative players across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC at more than 22.9 million. That is a cross-platform total accumulated over time, not a live concurrent count, so it should not be compared directly with the September Steam peak. TechRadar’s report provides the dated platform context.
Why the count rose—and what it says about finding a game
The charts establish that September’s Steam peak was higher than the preceding six monthly peaks shown by SteamCharts. They do not identify a reason for the increase. The figures alone cannot show whether a particular update, promotion, platform change, or other event caused it.

A monthly peak is also not the number online now. Concurrent activity changes throughout the day and across the month, and the cited trackers cover Steam only. The data support a recent high in Steam activity; they do not establish current matchmaking conditions on any platform or guarantee how quickly a particular squad will fill.
