Furniture and decor
You can place and arrange furniture and decorative items in homes and cabins. The current Steam store description advertises more than 30 furniture sets and says furniture can be tailored by color, pattern, and style. That is a storefront feature claim, not a guarantee that every item offers all three options; what you can change depends on the furniture and your available items. Walls and floors
An update introduced customization for select floors and walls. The word “select” matters: the update notes do not promise that every surface can be changed. Apple’s version history documents the feature.
Room layouts and cabin contents
Cabin floorplans and pocket rooms let you make a cabin larger or divide it into connected spaces, with doors and stairs among the possible connections. Update notes also describe cabin layouts and kits for saving, moving, and sharing designs and their contents, plus a creative-mode room for experimenting with almost any in-game item. These tools add flexibility, but they are distinct from simply placing furniture in one room.

Beds and themed decor
Beds can be used for resting as well as decoration. The official Tea Garden material also promotes a themed cabin furniture and decor set; themed items are options when available to you, not a separate requirement for customizing every home. The Tea Garden announcement describes that set.
How to decorate a cabin
The following interface details come from the community-maintained game wiki rather than official update instructions. Menu names and controls may differ by platform or version; use the current in-game prompts if the screen differs.

- Open the cabin’s decorating mode. The wiki describes this as the mode for placing and arranging items available in your inventory.
- Choose furniture or decor from your available items. Place it in the room and arrange the layout to suit your design or the cabin’s purpose.
- Use the paint-roller menu for eligible walls and floors. The wiki describes selecting wallpaper or flooring from items in your inventory. The official notes limit the feature to select surfaces, so an unavailable surface may not be editable.
- Check visitor information when decorating for a guest. The wiki describes a visitor filter that groups items by which visitor cabin requirements they meet. Treat the in-game visitor information as the authority for a specific visitor’s needs.

How floorplans and pocket rooms affect decorating
Floorplans change the shape and number of spaces in a cabin; pocket rooms add connected areas. Update notes describe layouts connected by doors, stairs, and spiral staircases. More spaces give you additional ways to organize a design, but they also change how you manage the contents.

- The community wiki says a cabin must be cleared before switching floorplans, and describes saving its contents as a kit. Check the current interface before changing a layout so you know how your items will be handled.
- The same wiki reports that rooms are decorated separately, items cannot be moved directly between spaces, and the per-room item maximum is 200. Its floorplan page flags some information as needing updates, so treat these as version-sensitive details rather than guaranteed current limits.
- The wiki lists 18 unlockable floorplans, with a small room available initially, but also flags its floorplan data for updates. Confirm available plans in your own game instead of relying on that count as a current, universal total.

Decorating for yourself versus attracting visitors
Player and character homes are primarily personal spaces to arrange, while visitor cabins connect design choices to progression. Official Nintendo and Steam descriptions say renovating and decorating cabins helps attract new visitors; Steam adds that visitors can unlock special quests and storylines. The storefront summaries do not give a complete list of each visitor’s required items or a universal threshold. Consult the visitor information in-game when preparing a particular cabin.

The official game site links to Apple Arcade, Nintendo Switch, Steam on PC, and PlayStation 5. Apple’s update history records version 3.0.0 as adding a player home, character homes, pocket rooms, and related content, alongside earlier notes for select wall and floor customization and cabin layouts and kits. That history is specific to the Apple listing; it does not establish that every platform received the same features on the same date. Store listings and platform availability can change, so check the relevant store for your edition.
