Help! The Witcher 3 Remastered Keeps Distracting Me With Beautiful Sunsets

When The Witcher 3 Remastered’s sunsets pull you away from the quest, Photo Mode lets you frame and save the moment. Here’s how the September 2026 update fits in for existing owners.

If The Witcher 3’s sunsets keep pulling your eyes off the quest, pause and use Photo Mode to save the view. The September 2026 Remastered update lets you adjust the weather and time of day for a screenshot; it gives you a way to linger over the scene without pretending the scenery is a problem that needs fixing.

Pause the quest and make the sunset a screenshot

Photo Mode is the most direct answer to a world that keeps making you stop and look. CD PROJEKT RED says the Remastered update expands Photo Mode, including options to set weather and time of day, while its support page describes the feature as a way to take screenshots. You can compose the scene you noticed, capture it, then decide whether to return to the path or keep exploring.

The official notes do not say that Photo Mode changes how often sunsets appear during ordinary play or prevents them from catching your attention. Think of it as a way to capture a moment, not a setting that removes the distraction. CD PROJEKT RED’s Remastered update notes and its Photo Mode support page explain the feature.

It’s a personal reaction, not a universal problem

Getting sidetracked by a sunset is part of this title’s first-person appeal, not evidence that the game is interrupting everyone’s play. An October 2026 PC Gamer review describes the writer “stopping regularly just to survey a sunset skybox”—one attributable example, not a statistic about players as a whole. Read the review.

What “Remastered” means for owners

CD PROJEKT RED announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered became available on September 29, 2026. The publisher describes it as a free upgrade for existing owners on GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are included. The publisher says Remastered replaces Complete Edition on supported platforms, with both expansions included as standard. Check the availability announcement for platform details.

If you already own an eligible copy, the publisher describes Remastered as a free upgrade; buying an older Complete Edition is not presented as a requirement for getting it. The boxed Complete Edition did receive a retail release, but that is separate from the Remastered update. CD PROJEKT RED’s 2023 retail announcement covers that physical edition.

Don’t expect a graphics setting to solve it

The official update notes describe platform-specific graphics and performance choices, as well as HDR calibration changes. They do not establish that a particular mode makes sunsets less distracting or is best for every player. What looks right depends on your platform, display and preference; HDR calibration is relevant if you use an HDR display. See the official notes for the options applicable to your platform.
