High On Life 2’s “this winter” window was announced on June 9, 2025, and is no longer a future release estimate. Xbox Wire later reported that the game launched on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC on February 13, 2026. Squanch Games subsequently set the Nintendo Switch 2 release for July 1, 2026.
When did High On Life 2 come out?
In its June 9, 2025 announcement, Xbox Wire described High On Life 2 as coming “this winter.” That was the original announcement window, not the current release timing. Xbox Wire’s February 12, 2026 update said the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox-on-PC launch would be February 13, 2026. Xbox Wire’s original announcement and its February 2026 interview provide those dates.

What platforms is High On Life 2 on?
The release announcements identify Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC for the February 13, 2026 launch, and Nintendo Switch 2 for July 1, 2026. The June 2025 announcement also named Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox Play Anywhere. The sources do not establish a complete current list of platforms or storefronts, so check the live listing for your region and edition. Squanch Games’ High On Life 2 page labels the game “OUT NOW” and lists retailers by region, including Amazon US; that retailer listing does not confirm current stock, price or a particular edition.

Is High On Life 2 on Game Pass?
Xbox Wire announced day-one Game Pass Ultimate availability for the February 13, 2026 Xbox launch. That announcement establishes the launch offer, not whether the game remains in the catalog now or whether access is available on every plan or in every region. Check the current Game Pass catalog and plan terms before subscribing or relying on access.
What kind of game is High On Life 2?
Squanch Games describes it as a comedic science-fiction shooter built around an intergalactic conspiracy threatening humanity. The June 2025 announcement highlighted returning talking alien weapons Sweezy, Creature, Gus and Knifey, as well as new weapons and combat. Xbox Wire’s announcement also says the original High On Life had a total player base of more than 20 million; that figure is attributed to the announcement article, which provides no measurement method or independent audit.

How the skateboard fits in
In a February 2026 Xbox Wire interview, Squanch Games Chief Design Officer Erich Meyr described the skateboard as both a traversal and combat mechanic: players can move, grind and jump with it, and throw it at enemies.
