In the target-practice room above the Far Fields Bellway, hit all four targets with one throw, hand Curveclaw to the Skarr Scout who appears, rest at the bench below, then return to collect the glowing Curvesickle.
Where to find the Curvesickle challenge
Use the target-practice room above the Far Fields Bellway as your landmark. Region labels differ between community references: the Hollow Knight Wiki lists the Curvesickle location as Hunter’s March, while Nintendo Life’s tools guide places the challenge in Far Fields. The Bellway and target room are more useful directions than relying on a single map-region label.
Map-coordinate listings also differ between secondary databases, so an exact coordinate is not reliable guidance here.
Requirements before you attempt the upgrade
- Get Curveclaw. Mottled Skarr sells it for 140 Rosaries. If he dies before you buy it, the tool can be found in the room above his corpse. The Silksong Wiki’s Curvesickle entry also identifies Curveclaw as the prerequisite.
- Reach Act 3. The upgrade challenge is described as an Act 3 acquisition.
- Equip Curveclaw. Have it equipped before entering the target-practice room.
How to get Curvesickle
- Enter the target-practice room above the Far Fields Bellway with Curveclaw equipped.
- Throw Curveclaw so that one throw hits all four targets. The requirement is a single throw that connects with all four—not three successful rounds.
- When the Skarr Scout appears, give them Curveclaw.
- Rest at the bench below the room.
- Return to the target room and pick up the glowing item on the floor: Curvesickle.
If the Skarr Scout does not appear after a valid attempt, check whether Pollip Pouch is equipped. The Hollow Knight Wiki notes that Pollip Pouch can make Curveclaw hit targets more than once and prevent the scout from appearing; unequip it for a clean attempt.

What Curvesickle does
The Silksong Wiki reproduces the in-game description: “Arched sharpbone used by hunters to take down flying prey.” Its mechanics entry describes a projectile that shoots forward in an arc before flying backward. The Hollow Knight Wiki describes the upgraded projectile as larger and stronger than Curveclaw, but the cited entry does not establish a Curvesickle damage number.
Completion and achievement notes
The Hollow Knight Wiki says Curvesickle is not required for 100% completion. It also notes that the Arsenal achievement may not unlock while Curveclaw remains with the scout. If you are pursuing that achievement, complete the upgrade and reclaim the tool.

Does Curvesickle require Drifter’s Cloak or an ant-merchant quest?
No such prerequisite is supported by the acquisition sequence documented in the item references. The Nerdschalk guide describes a Drifter’s Cloak requirement and an ant-merchant side quest, but the more specific item entries instead give the Act 3, four-target Curveclaw challenge as the route to Curvesickle. Follow the target challenge rather than treating the cloak or merchant exchange as required.
