Can you open the door?
The walkthrough says attempts to find an interaction, switch, destructible wall, usable item, ability, or nearby alternate entrance had not uncovered a confirmed way through. That is secondary reporting about player attempts, not a developer-confirmed explanation of the door’s mechanics. No verified unlock method is established by the sources cited here.
What is behind it?
The available sources do not identify what lies in the locked space. A connection to a dream arena and the possibility that the door is environmental decoration are theories, not confirmed answers. The suggestion that future content might explain it is speculation as well.

Team Cherry’s official Silksong announcements and patch notes on Steam include later updates and fixes for the Far Fields, but the entries reviewed do not mention this door or confirm that it has opened. That silence does not prove the door can never open or that no later game build changed it; it means these official notes do not verify an unlock.
