Is Hollow Knight: Silksong out yet?
Yes. Team Cherry announced on August 21, 2025 that Hollow Knight: Silksong would launch on September 4, then confirmed on September 4 that it was available on all platforms and day one on Xbox Game Pass. Its official page lists Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox, PlayStation 4 and 5, GOG, and Humble Bundle. Team Cherry’s release announcement
What did the earlier release-window report actually say?
On June 9, 2025, Windows Central reported that Matthew “Leth” Griffin, identified as Silksong’s marketing and publishing manager, had clarified in the official Hollow Knight Discord: “I confirmed BEFORE holiday,” and “We are not tied to a console release.” The outlet inferred that September or October seemed most likely. That was its own month-level prediction based on the reported clarification; it was not an official date announcement by a game showcase. Windows Central’s June 9 report
Team Cherry later supplied the actual date: September 4, 2025. The earlier window story is therefore useful as release-history context, not as current guidance about when to expect the base game.

When does the Sea of Sorrow expansion come out?
Team Cherry announced Sea of Sorrow as a free expansion for all players, coming in 2026. The announcement promises new areas, bosses, tools, and more, but gives no day or month. Does the physical edition reveal the DLC release date?
No. GamesRadar reported that physical-edition listings specify Sea of Sorrow is not included on the disc or cartridge and will instead be a free download. That tells buyers how the expansion is delivered, not when it will arrive relative to the physical edition.

The report gives October 16, 2026 as the physical-edition date for PS5, Xbox Series X|S (with the same version working on Xbox One), and Switch 2 (compatible with Switch 1). It also describes a Pharloom map and 32-page manual in the edition. None of those details establishes whether the expansion will launch before or after that date.
