Honeyview is still available as freeware, but it is a finished product. Bandisoft lists version 5.53, dated June 21, 2024, as the final setup release and explicitly says, “There will be no more updates for Honeyview.” The viewer remains useful on Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and 11 (32-bit or 64-bit), especially if you need RAW-image viewing, EXIF and GPS details, animated GIF/WebP playback, batch conversion, or images inside ZIP and comic-book archives. Is Honeyview still available, and where can I download it safely?
Yes. Bandisoft still lists Honeyview for download, including a standard setup program and a 32-bit portable package. Use the developer’s official Honeyview page, check that the download is presented as a Bandisoft file, and avoid repacked installers from software-download mirrors. The page labels the freeware “No Adware/Spyware/Virus,” but that is the vendor’s statement, not an independent malware test.

The archive feature is particularly useful for comic-book files and image collections: Honeyview can display supported images inside a CBR, CBZ, ZIP, RAR, 7Z, LZH, or TAR container directly. It is a viewer convenience, not an archive-repair tool; a damaged or unsupported container still needs to be repaired or unpacked with another utility.

What the format list does not include
Bandisoft’s Honeyview list does not include several formats that are common in newer phone, design, and imaging workflows, such as AVIF, JPEG XL, HEIC/HEIF/HIF, EXR, QOI, ICO, SVG, and animated AVIF. BandiView adds those formats in its newer editions. If a file is not in Honeyview’s published list, do not assume that changing the extension will make it readable; use a converter or a viewer with native support.
What can Honeyview do besides open a picture?
Read JPEG EXIF and GPS metadata
Honeyview can display JPEG EXIF information, including GPS data when that metadata is present. This is useful for checking a camera model, capture details, or the location recorded by a phone. Remember that GPS metadata can reveal a home address or travel location when a file is shared, so inspect and remove it before publishing images if privacy matters. Honeyview’s ability to display metadata should not be confused with a promise that it permanently strips or edits every metadata block.
Convert and resize batches of images
The batch conversion function can process multiple images and resize them as part of the conversion workflow. That suits practical jobs such as producing smaller copies for a game mod archive, preparing a group of screenshots for upload, or changing a set of files into a more convenient image format. Conversion is not the same as RAW development: the available data does not establish that Honeyview offers exposure controls, lens corrections, color grading, or a non-destructive editing catalog.
Play animated images
Animated GIF, Animated WebP, Animated BPG, and Animated PNG are listed as supported. Honeyview is consequently useful for checking whether an animation loops and for browsing animated assets without opening a full video editor. Playback support does not mean that Honeyview is a general video player.
Browse images in comic-book archives
CBR and CBZ support makes Honeyview convenient for comic-book collections, while ZIP, RAR, 7Z, LZH, and TAR support covers other image-packed archives. What does Honeyview’s privacy and update behavior mean?
Bandisoft’s EULA says the software automatically communicates with Bandisoft servers for version checking and update notices and may involve analytics providers. It also says users can stop those actions by uninstalling. This is the vendor’s contractual disclosure, not an independent privacy audit or a measurement of every network request on every Windows configuration.
Because Honeyview is no longer updated, version checking cannot deliver a new Honeyview feature release. If your organization blocks outbound telemetry or update-check traffic, apply its normal software policy and test the effect in a controlled environment. Choose Honeyview when

How do I troubleshoot a Honeyview download or file that will not open?

Bandisoft’s current direction is BandiView. Look specifically for the Honeyview page and verify that the file is identified as v5.53. If a page presents only BandiView, you are on the successor’s download path rather than Honeyview’s final-release listing.
A file opens in another viewer but not Honeyview
Compare the extension with Honeyview’s published format list. AVIF, HEIC/HEIF/HIF, JXL, EXR, QOI, ICO, SVG, animated AVIF, and other newer formats are among the reasons to use BandiView or another current viewer. Converting the file to a listed format is an alternative, but conversion can remove animation, HDR data, layers, or metadata.
An archive does not display its images
Confirm that the container is ZIP, RAR, 7Z, LZH, TAR, CBR, or CBZ and that it is not damaged. If the archive is corrupted or uses a feature Honeyview does not understand, repair or extract it with a dedicated archive utility, then open the recovered images separately.
You expected an update notification
Honeyview’s final-release notice means that no new Honeyview build should be expected. If you need current fixes or format support, compare your files and workflow against BandiView rather than repeatedly reinstalling the same v5.53 package.
The portable copy will not run on a managed PC
Portable does not mean exempt from Windows application-control, antivirus, or organizational policy. Check the security event or administrator policy, copy the folder to an approved location, and use the installed package only if your organization permits it.
Is Honeyview worth downloading in 2026?

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I keep Honeyview and BandiView installed on the same Windows PC?
The published material does not state whether the two applications register competing file associations or can coexist without configuration changes. If you install both, review which program Windows assigns to each extension and change those defaults deliberately rather than assuming the newer application will take over every format.
Will Honeyview remove GPS coordinates before I share a photo?
