Activision’s November 2021 launch estimates range from 55 GB on PS5 to 65 GB on PS4; on PC, its listed size ranges from 36 GB for Multiplayer and Zombies only to 177 GB for all modes. These are historical figures, not guaranteed sizes for a current installation.
Vanguard install sizes by platform
Activision published the following Day One installation estimates in its Call of Duty: Vanguard Installation and Setup guide, dated November 1, 2021. The “free space required” figures are the space Activision said was needed to complete installation, not the listed game-size estimate.

Activision says the figures are Day One estimates that are subject to change. The guide also warns that mandatory updates may require additional storage, so these numbers should not be treated as current measured install sizes.
Why PC size depends on the modes you install
Activision’s PC system requirements distinguish between a limited-mode installation and the full set of game modes. The same page lists a high-resolution asset cache separately from the storage figures.

The PC figures describe different content setups, so 36 GB is not a general size for the complete game. Steam currently surfaces a 36 GB available-storage requirement on its Vanguard listing (listing surfaced October 8, 2026). That store figure does not establish the current installed size for every mode or platform.
Why installation can need more space than the game-size figure
A download or estimated game footprint is not necessarily the amount of free disk space needed to install. Activision’s setup guide lists 90 GB free for a 55 GB PS5 estimate, 93 GB for a 65 GB PS4 estimate, and 93 GB for a 61 GB PC estimate. It also says Vanguard requires a Day One update and that mandatory updates may need more storage. Leave room beyond the listed game figure when installing or updating.

How to find the current size for your setup
The cited Activision figures are launch estimates, and the Steam listing is a storage requirement rather than a measurement of every current installation. For the size that applies to your own copy, check the installed game’s storage information on your platform and note the platform, update state, and installed content or modes. Those details matter because updates and optional content can make your installation differ from a launch estimate or a store listing.
