To change your view in Roblox, open the in-experience menu, choose Settings, then select Classic or Follow under Camera—if the experience lets you change it. In Classic mode on a computer, hold the right mouse button and drag to move the view around your avatar.
Change the camera mode in Roblox
- While you are inside an experience, open the Roblox menu.
- Select Settings and find the Camera option.
- If the setting is available, choose Classic or Follow.

How Classic and Follow change your view
| Camera mode | How it behaves | How to adjust it |
|---|---|---|
| Classic | The camera stays where you place it until you adjust it. | On a computer with a mouse, hold the right mouse button and drag to reposition the view around your avatar. |
| Follow | The camera rotates with your avatar’s movement to help keep the direction you are moving in view. | Move your avatar left or right; the camera follows its movement. |
Toggle the camera with Shift Lock
If Shift Lock Switch is enabled for the experience, press Shift to toggle camera modes. This option is separate from choosing a camera mode in Settings.
Why you may not be able to change the camera
An experience developer can lock the camera mode. If the Camera setting is missing or cannot be changed, the experience may have a developer-set restriction; players cannot override that lock through the general camera setting.

Find camera controls on mobile
Roblox’s general support guide does not specify a camera gesture for phones or tablets. Open the experience’s in-game menu and select Help to see the gestures and controls available for that experience and device.
