Sign in to the Activision account currently linked to the platform account you want to detach. Go to ACCOUNT LINKING, select UNLINK beside that platform, check the confirmation box, and choose CONTINUE. Activision limits unlinking an individual platform account to once every 12 months, and account restrictions may prevent the change.
Unlink a PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or other platform account
- Sign in to the Activision account that is currently linked to the platform account you want to remove.
- Open ACCOUNT LINKING in the account settings.
- Find the platform account and select UNLINK.
- Check the confirmation box and select CONTINUE.
Activision’s current guide lists PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Blizzard, Nintendo, and Ubisoft. The providers shown can vary by guide version, so use the options displayed in your own account’s ACCOUNT LINKING section. See Activision’s account-management instructions.
Check the limit and your game progress before unlinking
Activision says an individual platform account may be unlinked once every 12 months. The limit applies to the platform account; the public guidance does not say that contacting support automatically bypasses it.
For games that support cross-progression, Activision says progress is stored on the Activision account, not the platform account. If you link your platform account to a different Activision account, that progress does not carry over to the new account. To continue progression and access content owned through the original association, link the platform account back to the Activision account that holds the progress. This is not a guarantee that every Activision game supports cross-progression. Details are in Activision’s account-management guide.

If you cannot access the old Activision email or password
If you can still sign in to a platform account already linked to the Activision account, you may be able to access the Activision account without first using its email and password:
- Go to the Activision login page and choose the linked platform account.
- Authenticate with that platform account and return to Activision.
- Open BASIC INFO in account settings and update the password, then the email address, confirming changes when prompted.
Activision says a password-reset link expires after 24 hours, and a reset is not available if you cannot access the email address on the account. Using an existing linked platform login is its documented alternative when you can authenticate with that platform. Follow the account guide for the current steps.

If the linked account is unfamiliar or you suspect someone accessed your account
If Activision notifies you about a platform account you do not recognize, do not follow links in a suspicious message. Navigate to Activision’s site directly, sign in, unlink the unfamiliar account if possible, and change your password. If suspicious activity continues, submit a Hacked Account Recovery request. Activision’s email-verification guidance describes this response.
Why the unlink option may be blocked
Activision says active enforcement may restrict unlinking, and suspicious login or unlinking attempts may cause a request to be denied. Eligibility depends on the account, and Activision’s public guidance does not promise an exception or a particular support outcome.

If you cannot access the relevant Activision account or the account page will not allow the change, use Activision Support Options. Its account-recovery page also directs users with linking or unlinking problems to the account-management guide and support.
