Roblox reports send information about a specific rule-breaking message, player behavior, experience, or item to Roblox moderators for review. To make a report useful, open the Report Abuse control closest to the content, choose the reason that best fits, and add brief context where the form allows it. Reporting is different from blocking: a report alerts moderators, while blocking and communication settings can help limit further contact.
What happens when you submit a Roblox report?
Roblox describes Report Abuse as its preferred way to alert moderators to rule-breaking users or content. Reports go directly to moderators and help Roblox track repeat offenders. The key is to report the specific content or conduct—not just the person’s profile. A profile-only report may not show moderators what the person did wrong.

Choose the reason that fits what happened and, if offered, use the description field to identify the relevant behavior or content. Keep the explanation concise and factual. The purpose is to give moderators something specific to review, not to demand a particular punishment. Roblox’s reporting guidance does not promise a general review time, a reply to every reporter, or a particular outcome.
How to report a player or experience in a game
Report a player’s behavior
- Open the menu while you are in the experience.
- Select the flag beside the user or open the Report tab.
- Choose Person, then select the username.
- Choose the reason that best describes the conduct. Add a short description if the form offers one, then submit.
Report the experience itself
Open the same in-experience reporting form and select Experience rather than Person. Roblox says Report Abuse is available in experience controls. If the whole experience is the issue, you can also use the red Report Abuse button on its About page.

How to report chat, an item, or another user-facing feature
- Browser app chat: Open Chat Details from the gear icon, use the menu beside the person’s name, select Report, and complete the form.
- Mobile app chat: Open the information icon, then the conversation participant or their menu, and select Report Abuse.
- Group chat: Open the menu beside the specific user and choose Report User to report inappropriate or rule-violating conduct.
- Catalog or library item: Open the item’s menu, select Report item, and complete the form.

Should you report, block, or appeal?

Reports about another person and appeals of moderation on your own account or content are separate processes. Roblox says some appeal categories use Violations & Appeals, while other actions use its support form. For general support-form appeals, Roblox’s guidance sets a 30-day deadline after the moderation action; EU users have six months to appeal an initial moderation action. These deadlines depend on the appeal route and region, so follow the instructions in the moderation notice and Roblox’s appeal guidance. Roblox also says only the account owner may appeal, subject to the ways a parent or guardian is permitted to act, and duplicate appeals for the same reviewed action are not reviewed.

What a report can—and cannot—tell you
Submitting a report gives moderators information to review; it does not guarantee a ban or any other specific enforcement action. Roblox’s published reporting guidance does not establish a general response-time guarantee or say that every reporter will receive a reply. It also does not establish that reports are anonymous in every context, so do not assume anonymity.
