If you mean the original Call of Duty: Black Ops on PC, the official manual identifies the tilde key (~) as the console key—but it does not explain how to enable cheats or provide a verified cheat-command list. “Black Ops” can also mean several different games, so the answer depends on the specific release, platform, and game mode.
What does “Black Ops” mean?
Activision identifies the original Call of Duty: Black Ops as a Treyarch game released on November 9, 2010, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii. The same title is often used casually for later entries, including Black Ops 2, Black Ops 3, Black Ops 4, Black Ops Cold War, Black Ops 6, and Black Ops 7. Instructions for one release or platform should not be assumed to work in another.

For the original game, Activision’s official PC manual lists ~ as the console key. It does not say that opening the console enables cheats, explain an activation sequence, or document cheat commands. Therefore, the manual confirms how to open the console, not how to turn cheats on.
Does the console key enable cheats on the original PC game?
Not according to the manual. Pressing ~ is the documented console control, but the manual provides no further cheat-enabling steps. An exact sequence or command list cannot be presented as officially supported based on that documentation.

- -This renewed game has been cleaned, tested, and shows minimal wear.
If you are trying to identify instructions for your copy, first note the full game title, whether you are playing on PC or console, and whether you are in Campaign, Zombies, or Multiplayer. Without those details, a specific cheat recipe risks applying to the wrong game or mode.
Does the answer change by game mode?
The original manual treats Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies as distinct modes. It also describes Ranked Match, Private Match, Wager Match, Combat Training, and Zombies within its multiplayer information. A method associated with a solo mode should not be assumed to work in an online match; the manual does not establish a cheat method that applies across modes.

- Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower.
- This is signature Black Ops across a cinematic single-player Campaign, a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, and the epic return of Round-Based Zombies.
- The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
- In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
- Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
- Campaign: The manual does not provide an official cheat activation procedure.
- Zombies: The manual identifies Zombies as a separate mode but does not document a cheat-enabling procedure for it.
- Multiplayer: Do not treat an unverified solo-mode method as applicable to online play. The manual describes multiplayer as an active mode, including continued background play while the objectives screen is open.
Do Black Ops 6 or Black Ops 7 anti-cheat rules apply here?
No. Activision’s August 26, 2025 community update discusses anti-cheat work for Black Ops 6 and planned Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 requirements for Black Ops 7 PC players. Those statements concern the later games; they do not establish instructions or policies for enabling cheats in the original 2010 PC release.
