A practical romanization is Rekkuza; Rekkūza marks the long vowel. A kana-based approximation is “rehk-koo-zah.”
How to pronounce レックウザ
The name breaks into the kana sequence レッ・ク・ウ・ザ (re-kku-u-za). The small ッ signals a brief hold on the consonant that follows, so pause very slightly before the k in ku. The ウ contributes a long “u” sound. Together, that gives the rough English-language guide “rehk-koo-zah.”
Rekkuza is an easy-to-read romanization. Rekkūza uses a macron over the u to make the long vowel explicit. Neither spelling replaces the Japanese katakana form.
What confirms the Japanese name?
The Pokémon Company’s official Japanese Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Rayquaza page displays the name as レックウザ. The official Pokémon Card Game Rayquaza card listing uses the same spelling.
