Fortnite’s Battle Pass works in a simple loop: earn XP in any Fortnite experience, level up to unlock reward pages, then claim the rewards you want. In Chapter 7 Season 4, the pass costs 800 V-Bucks or is included with Fortnite Crew, and its listed season end date is November 1, 2026, Eastern Time.
How the Battle Pass progression works
- Get access to the pass. Buy the active pass for 800 V-Bucks or access it through Fortnite Crew.
- Earn XP. XP from any Fortnite experience advances this Battle Pass; you do not need to play one specific mode.
- Level up to open reward pages. Levels give you access to pages of rewards. Claim rewards from the pages you have unlocked.
- Complete Quests for special Styles. Special Styles have an extra requirement: their Quests become available after you claim other rewards.
Epic’s current Battle Pass page describes the pass as pages of in-game rewards unlocked by earning XP in any Fortnite experience.

What the current pass costs and includes
For Chapter 7 Season 4, Epic lists the Battle Pass at 800 V-Bucks and says it is also available through Fortnite Crew. The pass offers up to 800 V-Bucks among its rewards. “Up to” matters: earning the full amount depends on progressing far enough to claim those rewards.
If you earn all 800 V-Bucks and save them, you can cover the listed price of a subsequent Battle Pass. This is an in-game currency return, not a cash refund. Epic’s March 2026 season announcement also confirms the 800 V-Bucks price and the Crew access option for that year.
#1 Best Overall
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
Buying the pass or getting it through Crew
A standalone purchase gives access to the Battle Pass. Fortnite Crew includes it alongside the OG, Music, and LEGO Passes, as well as a monthly Crew Pack and V-Bucks, according to the current pass page. Whether Crew is worthwhile depends on whether you value those additional benefits; check the current regional subscription terms for its price and details.
When this season’s rewards expire
The Chapter 7 Season 4 page lists November 1, 2026, Eastern Time, as the season end date. Treat that deadline as the limit for pursuing the active pass’s rewards, and check the in-game pass or Epic’s page for any updated timing.

Can Battle Pass items return to the Shop?
They may, but a return is not guaranteed. Epic’s August 2024 policy says an item from a Battle Pass may be offered in the Shop at least 18 months after that pass expires. Epic does not promise that any particular item will return, and the number of alternate Styles available may vary. Do not count on a specific Outfit appearing later.

Older Battle Passes used Battle Stars and choice-based reward claiming. Epic announced a move to XP-based progression across Fortnite passes in 2024, including retiring Battle Stars. The current Battle Pass page describes XP, levels, reward pages, and claims—not Battle Stars—as the way this pass works. See Epic’s 2024 progression update for the historical change.
