Expect roughly 10–14 hours for a typical first playthrough of Resident Evil Requiem, though one published Standard-difficulty run took just under 10 hours. A focused run can be shorter; pursuing every item and challenge can take 25 hours or more. These are estimates from game outlets, not an official Capcom completion-time figure.
How long is Resident Evil Requiem?
For a first playthrough with some exploration and backtracking, plan on about 10–14 hours. GameSpot’s February 2026 guide estimates 11–14 hours on Standard, whether Modern or Classic, assuming the player explores and backtracks for some items. Nintendo Life reported that its own Standard run took just under 10 hours: it did not rush, but it also did not collect every optional item. These figures are estimates based on different play styles, not a single measured average.
Capcom’s official materials describe the game and its modes but do not give a campaign-length estimate. The hours below should therefore be treated as editorial guidance rather than an official target. (GameSpot; Nintendo Life; Capcom)
Estimated time by play style
| Play style | Estimated time | What the estimate assumes |
|---|---|---|
| Focused, story-first run | Eight hours or less | GameSpot’s estimate for prioritizing main objectives and avoiding enemies. |
| Typical first run | About 10–14 hours | GameSpot’s estimate includes some exploration and backtracking; Nintendo Life’s own Standard run was just under 10 hours without collecting every optional item. |
| Completionist run | 25 hours or more | GameSpot’s estimate for 100% completion. Nintendo Life says exhaustive item and challenge hunting could double or triple its first-run time. |
The ranges come from different outlets and approaches, so they are useful planning estimates—not guarantees. In particular, the just-under-10-hour figure is Nintendo Life’s own playthrough, not a universal time for Standard difficulty. (GameSpot; Nintendo Life)

What changes your total hours?
Exploration and optional objectives
Searching areas, revisiting locations, and pursuing optional items adds time compared with moving directly between main objectives. Weapon purchases, challenges, and unlocks can add substantially more if you aim to complete everything rather than finish the story.
Puzzles and series experience
Puzzle-solving familiarity matters. Nintendo Life notes that players new to Resident Evil may need a couple more hours to get comfortable with the series’ puzzles and conventions.

Grace and Leon’s different sections
The campaign shifts between Grace’s slower survival-horror sections, where ammunition is scarce and stealth matters, and Leon’s more action-oriented segments. How cautiously you approach those different styles can affect your pace; having two protagonists does not, by itself, mean the campaign takes twice as long.
Difficulty and perspective
Capcom says the game offers multiple difficulty settings and lets players switch between first- and third-person perspectives in real time. Standard also has Modern and Classic options: GameSpot notes that saving is more streamlined in Standard (Modern), while autosaves are less frequent in Standard (Classic) and Grace uses Ink Ribbons for manual saves. These options shape how a run feels and how you manage progress, but Capcom has not published separate completion times for them. (Capcom; GameSpot)

Does 100% completion take more than one run?
Allow at least 25 hours if you are aiming for 100%, based on GameSpot’s estimate, and expect that completionist goals may involve more than one playthrough for challenges and unlocks. Nintendo Life estimates that exhaustive item and challenge hunting could double or triple its own just-under-10-hour first run. The exact total depends on what you count as complete and how much you carry forward between attempts; neither outlet presents its estimate as a guaranteed time.

No campaign-length figure appears in the official Capcom material cited here. The 10–14-hour typical range, eight-hours-or-less focused estimate, and 25-hours-or-more completionist estimate come from GameSpot and Nintendo Life, not Capcom. Capcom confirms the game’s difficulty and perspective options but does not attach a total-hours claim to them. (Capcom)
