As of 16 October 2026, there is no single official count for every category in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. Konami confirms seven weapon categories, while GamesRadar reports 28 weapons in total—seven families containing four weapons each. The campaign covers two broad regions, Paris and Dracula’s Castle, divided into many zones, but no authoritative source gives a final zone total. Boss numbers are also unresolved: several encounters are officially named, while a community list of 12 numbered encounters remains unverified.
At a glance
| Category | Best-supported figure | What is actually established |
|---|---|---|
| Weapons | 7 categories officially; 28 total reported by GamesRadar | Konami confirms seven distinct categories. GamesRadar describes seven weapon families with four weapons each, implying 28 weapons. |
| Zones | No final number published | The game has two major settings—Paris and Dracula’s Castle—each split into many zones. |
| Bosses | No authoritative final total | Konami names several bosses, and the opening mission has three key-guarding bosses. A community roster lists 12 numbered encounters, but its count is not canonical. |
How many weapons are in Belmont’s Curse?
Seven weapon categories are official
Konami’s official system description says Rose has “weapons spanning seven distinct categories,” alongside Relics that activate powerful offensive and defensive effects. That seven-category figure is the clearest primary-source statistic for the arsenal’s structure. It describes weapon types or families, not necessarily the number of individual items.

Why the commonly cited total is 28
GamesRadar’s post-release review reports seven weapon families with four weapons in each family. Multiplying those figures gives 28 individual weapons. This is a review-reported total, not wording published by Konami, so it should be attributed as such rather than presented as an official confirmation.

How many zones or areas are there?
Two major regions, many smaller zones
MeriStation’s 17 July 2026 hands-on report describes two large scenario regions: Paris and Dracula’s Castle. Each region is divided into many zones with its own visual identity and themes. GamesRadar characterizes the finished map as a sprawling network of tunnels and halls that includes Parisian locations such as Notre Dame and the Catacombs before extending into Dracula’s Castle.
Why an exact zone count cannot be confirmed
Neither of those reports enumerates every zone, and no official source reviewed publishes a final numeric total. “Two regions” therefore should not be converted into “two areas,” nor should an estimated number of sub-areas be treated as a retail statistic. The defensible description is a two-region structure containing many individually themed zones.

How many bosses are in the game?
Bosses confirmed by name
Konami’s official page names Death, Medusa and Carmilla as legendary bosses and also identifies Joan of Arc as an enigmatic new boss. GamesRadar’s review discusses Tarot-card bosses and specifically mentions Talos, Death, Medusa and Carmilla. These are confirmed named encounters, but the lists are examples rather than a complete total.

MeriStation reports that the first mission requires three keys to open a cemetery crypt. Each key is guarded by a boss: a werewolf, Medusa and Joan of Arc. This establishes three early boss encounters, but it does not indicate how many bosses appear in the full campaign.

Why “12 bosses” is not an official answer
A community guide lists 12 numbered encounters and two additional mid-boss-style encounters. The guide states that its roster is based on community datamines and early-access reports. Until Konami or a verified retail-era guide publishes a complete roster, 12 should be treated as an unconfirmed community count—not a settled total for the finished game. The extra mid-boss entries also show why totals can vary depending on whether every encounter is classified as a full boss.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What players should use as the reliable answer
- Weapons: seven categories are officially confirmed; GamesRadar reports 28 individual weapons from seven families of four.
- Zones: the progression is organized around Paris and Dracula’s Castle, with many sub-zones, but no official total is available.
- Bosses: Death, Medusa, Carmilla and Joan of Arc are officially named, while the opening mission’s three guardians are documented; no authoritative final boss count has been published.
These figures may become more precise if post-launch patches or comprehensive retail guides publish complete zone maps and boss rosters. For now, separating official statements from review reporting and community estimates is the only way to avoid overstating what is known.
