The setting can be enabled on one PS5 at a time: disable it on the old console, then enable it on the new one. Sony’s once-every-six-months limit applies to remotely deactivating all devices—not to ordinary switches you make on the consoles.
How to switch Console Sharing to another PS5
- On the PS5 where sharing is enabled, go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play, then select Disable.
- On the PS5 you want to use next, open the same menu and select Enable.
Sony says Console Sharing and Offline Play is automatically enabled on the first PS5 used to sign in to PlayStation. To enable it on a different PS5, turn it off on the previous one first. If you can’t access the old PS5
Sign in to PlayStation Account Management and use the option to deactivate all devices. Sony limits this remote all-device action to once every six months. It deactivates all devices, rather than offering a remote reset for just one PS5; after deactivation, enable Console Sharing and Offline Play on the PS5 you want to use. What Console Sharing changes
On the PS5 where the feature is enabled, other users can play games and media purchased and downloaded by the account owner, including when the console is offline. Some PlayStation Plus benefits can also be shared. Sony lists online multiplayer (subject to parental controls), downloaded games acquired with a Plus discount, Monthly Plus games that have been downloaded, and catalog games depending on the membership plan as shareable.

Other Plus features are not shared: online storage, automatic patch downloads, redeeming Plus games on another account, buying discounted products, and early access to timed trials. If activation doesn’t work
- Check whether Console Sharing and Offline Play is still enabled on another PS5; only one PS5 can have it enabled at a time.
- Check PlayStation service status, update the system software, restart the console, and troubleshoot its network connection, following Sony’s troubleshooting guidance.
- If a game or other content is missing, confirm that the account enabling sharing purchased it and that any required PlayStation Plus subscription is active.
