There is no authoritative single install-size figure for the complete Resident Evil Remake Trilogy. Capcom’s bundle combines Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition content, but the published storage requirements are listed separately by game and platform. The figures currently available are 26 GB for the PC version of Resident Evil 2, 45 GB for the PC version of Resident Evil 3 (from a secondary reproduction of the Steam requirement), and 30 GB on PS4 or 60 GB on PS5 for Resident Evil 4 according to Capcom support. You should therefore plan by platform and leave additional room for updates and downloadable content rather than rely on one trilogy-wide number.
What is included in the Resident Evil Remake Trilogy?
Capcom’s Resident Evil Remake Trilogy is a package built around three modern remakes:

- Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition
- Resident Evil 3
- Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition content
The bundle is listed for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC through Steam. Those platform listings establish the games included in the package, but they do not publish one combined storage requirement for all three titles. A store bundle is not necessarily installed as one indivisible file, either: each game can have its own package, patches and optional content.

The available figures are not equivalent measurements. Some are storefront requirements for a computer, while others are console capacity requirements supplied by Capcom. Treat each number as applying only to the platform and title shown.
#1 Best Overall
- Reawaken a Classic – Resident Evil 4 preserves the essence of the original game, now reconstructed using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine to deliver realistic visuals and additional narrative depth to the iconic story that was not possible at the time of the original release.
- Modernized Gameplay – The team from 2019’s Resident Evil 2 returns to build upon the series’ modern approach to survival horror. Engage in frenzied combat with the Ganados villagers, explore a European village gripped by madness, and solve puzzles to access new areas and collect useful items for Leon and Ashley’s constant struggle to survive.
- Overwhelming Hordes – Face hordes of rabid enemies that threaten to overwhelm Leon with even more diverse methods of attack than in the original release.
- Survive on a Knife’s Edge – Years of intense training have taught Leon new ways to use his knife, helping to even the odds against the unrelenting onslaught of enemies. By parrying enemy attacks, you can avoid debilitating damage and evade lunging enemies seeking to grab Leon and hold him in place. Make smart use of scavenged knives to deliver precise finishing moves on vulnerable enemies, and even use the element of surprise to quietly dispatch unsuspecting foes before they break.

| Game | Platform | Published figure | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Resident Evil 2 remake | PC (Steam) | 26 GB | Direct Steam storage requirement for the PC listing. |
| Resident Evil 3 remake | PC (Steam) | 45 GB | The available reference reproduces the Steam requirement; verify the live listing before installing. |
| Resident Evil 4 remake | PS4 | 30 GB or more | Capcom support states a required capacity of at least 30 GB. |
| Resident Evil 4 remake | PS5 | 60 GB or more | Capcom support states a required capacity of at least 60 GB. |
No comparable official number is established here for the PC version of Resident Evil 4, either Xbox version of the trilogy, or the PS4 and PS5 versions of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. Do not substitute a figure from another platform just because the game has the same title.
How much space should you reserve?
PC: 71 GB is only the known subtotal
Adding the two available PC figures gives 26 GB + 45 GB = 71 GB for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. That is not the trilogy total because the PC requirement for Resident Evil 4 is not established in the available official listings. A PC with exactly 71 GB free cannot be assumed to hold all three games.
Use the current Steam pages for all three games when deciding whether your drive is ready. Check the storage requirement shown for your edition, then add headroom for patches, temporary update files and any optional downloadable content. The 26 GB and 45 GB figures describe the listed requirements; they are not a guarantee that the final folder size will remain unchanged after updates.
PS4: the 30 GB figure applies to Resident Evil 4 only
Capcom lists Resident Evil 4 at 30 GB or more on PS4. That number does not include the PS4 installations of Resident Evil 2 or Resident Evil 3, for which no corresponding figures are established here. Consequently, 30 GB is a useful minimum for the PS4 version of the fourth game, not a capacity target for the entire remake collection.

- Return to the series origins - Discover the truth behind what led to the horrors at the Mansion in Resident Evil in this fan-favorite and popular prequel title to the series.
- Completely enhanced visuals - New high-resolution textures have been created from scratch, including 1080p support on next-gen consoles, while still preserving the classic appearance of the original release.
- Fan-favorite Resident Evil characters - Rookie S.T.A.R.S. member Rebecca Chambers and wanted criminal Billy Coen combine skills and buddy up to survive the undead and infected nightmares that await them.
- All original difficulty levels plus new Very Easy Mode for novice players
PS5: reserve at least 60 GB for Resident Evil 4
Capcom lists Resident Evil 4 at 60 GB or more on PS5. The PS5 requirement is higher than the PS4 requirement, so a PS4 number cannot be used to plan a PS5 installation. The storage needed by the PS5 versions of the other two remakes still has to be read from their current product pages or install screens before you calculate a complete collection total.
Why 131 GB is not a real trilogy requirement
If you add every figure listed above, the arithmetic is 26 + 45 + 60 = 131 GB. That calculation mixes PC requirements for the first two games with the PS5 requirement for the fourth. It is therefore an indicative planning sum across different platforms, not a measured PC, PS4, PS5 or Xbox installation. It should never be presented as the amount a single console or computer needs.
Why the same collection needs different amounts of space
Platform generation
PS4 and PS5 versions can have different assets, packaging and requirements. The published Resident Evil 4 figures demonstrate the difference directly: at least 30 GB on PS4 versus at least 60 GB on PS5. Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S likewise represent separate platform targets, and a listing for one generation should not be treated as a measurement for the other.
Edition and included content
The bundle uses Deluxe Edition content for Resident Evil 2 and Gold Edition content for Resident Evil 4. Extra costumes, weapons, add-ons or other included files can alter the amount downloaded compared with a standard-edition listing. Confirm whether the store is showing the base game, a bundle, or an edition with its downloadable content before comparing numbers.

- Reimagined Story – Resident Evil 4 dials up the original release’s key feelings of loneliness and the fear of enemies blinded by zealotry, while providing more nuanced depictions of the character motivations and relationships that defined the 2005 survival horror icon.
Required free space versus final installed size
A store’s “required space” is a capacity condition for downloading or installing. It is not always identical to the final size of the game folder. Installers may need temporary working space, and patches can require room for both old and new data while an update is applied. Console support pages can also state “or more,” meaning the listed number is a floor rather than a promise of an exact footprint.
Updates, language files and downloadable content
Post-launch patches and optional content can increase the amount stored after the initial installation. Language selections may also affect what is downloaded, depending on the storefront and edition. Because no source here quantifies that overhead, keep free space beyond the published requirement instead of filling a drive to the exact number.

PlayStation 5
- Open Settings from the PS5 home screen.
- Choose Storage and review the free space on the console or attached M.2 storage.
- Open the game’s store page and compare its PS5 requirement with that free-space figure.
- Leave room above the requirement for updates and any additional content included with your edition.
If you are installing the PS5 version of Resident Evil 4, the published baseline is at least 60 GB. The other two games must be checked individually; do not infer their sizes from the fourth game.
PlayStation 4
- Open Settings, then Storage, and select the system storage view.
- Record the available free space rather than the drive’s advertised total capacity.
- Check the PS4 store listing for each remake and account for the edition you own.
- Keep additional capacity available while downloads and updates are processed.
For the PS4 version of Resident Evil 4, Capcom’s stated requirement is at least 30 GB.

- Grace Ashcroft, an FBI intelligence analyst who is introverted and easily scared, representing a new type of character for the Resident Evil series. Grace will experience horror from the same perspective as the player as she learns to overcome her fears throughout the course of the story.
- For the first time ever in Resident Evil history, players will be able to freely switch between both first- and third-person perspectives throughout the game.
- An Anniversary to Remember: With March 2026 marking the Resident Evil series’ 30-year anniversary, Resident Evil Requiem marks its own milestone in the franchise.
- Pre-orders for Resident Evil Requiem are now open, with the bonus of Grace’s costume: Apocalypse. Please note that the picture weapon does not come with the costume, but it can be obtained in-game.
Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S
- Open My games & apps from the Xbox dashboard.
- Use the storage-management view to see free space on the internal drive and any configured expansion storage.
- Read the size shown on the exact Xbox store page for the edition and generation you intend to install.
- Reserve extra room for updates rather than treating the displayed download size as a permanent total.
The available figures in this guide do not establish Xbox install sizes, so the Xbox listing for your specific version is the controlling number.
PC on Steam
- Open the Steam store page for each remake and expand the system-requirements section.
- Check the storage line for the correct edition, then compare it with free space on the drive selected in Steam’s storage settings.
- For the known PC figures, plan around 26 GB for Resident Evil 2 and 45 GB for Resident Evil 3.
- Check Resident Evil 4 separately because its PC requirement is not established by the figures available here.
- Keep headroom for patch staging, optional content and other games sharing the drive.
Practical planning examples
You want all three games on one PC drive
Start with the known 71 GB subtotal for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. Then add the current Steam requirement for your Resident Evil 4 edition and a buffer for updates. Until that third figure is confirmed, no honest article can give you a guaranteed PC total.
You are installing only Resident Evil 4
Use the platform-specific baseline: at least 30 GB for PS4 or at least 60 GB for PS5. On PC and Xbox, use the requirement shown by the current store listing for your edition. The console figures cannot be transferred to PC or Xbox.
Recommended Free Tools
You are buying the bundle but installing games one at a time
A staged installation reduces the immediate free-space requirement, but it does not change the eventual space needed if all three games remain installed. Before each download, check the platform’s free-space screen and remove or move games you can reinstall later.
What to do when an installation says there is not enough space
- Check the edition first: a Deluxe or Gold package may include content that the standard-game listing does not.
- Check the platform version: a PS5 installation can require substantially more room than a PS4 installation, as shown by Resident Evil 4.
- Allow temporary room: delete or move enough additional data for the update process, not merely the amount shown on the store page.
- Review optional downloads: remove unused language files or add-ons only where your platform offers those controls.
- Install sequentially: download one remake, complete its updates, then reassess free space before starting the next.
- Recheck after updates: a successful base installation does not guarantee that a later patch will fit in the remaining space.
The safest answer for each platform
| Platform | What can be stated confidently | What you still need to verify |
|---|---|---|
| PC (Steam) | 26 GB for Resident Evil 2; 45 GB reported for Resident Evil 3. | The live Resident Evil 4 requirement, edition-specific content and update headroom. |
| PS4 | At least 30 GB for Resident Evil 4. | PS4 requirements for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, plus patches and bundle content. |
| PS5 | At least 60 GB for Resident Evil 4. | PS5 requirements for the first two remakes and extra update space. |
| Xbox One / Series X|S | The trilogy is listed for both Xbox generations. | The exact requirement shown for your Xbox edition and generation. |
The collection will fit only when the sum of the requirements for your chosen platform and editions, plus update headroom, is below the drive’s actual free space. Because the published information does not provide all of those same-platform figures, checking the live listing for every game remains essential.
