New Game Plus in SILENT HILL f becomes available after your first story clear. It carries some progression forward, adds clues and other story material, and opens routes to the game’s alternate endings. You can replay the full story or use an optional early-game skip added in patch 1.10; that skip saves time but forfeits items in the skipped sections and three achievements on that run.
When New Game Plus starts
Complete the story once to create the cleared-game data used for New Game Plus. The first run leads to Coming Home to Roost; alternative ending routes become available on later runs. PlayStation’s official preview describes five endings unlocked through New Game Plus after the first completion (PlayStation.Blog).

What carries over—and what changes
TechRadar reports that inventory, character upgrades, documents, omamori, journal entries, and certain key items carry over. That is a secondary-source summary, not an official exhaustive list of every item or progression flag. Check your inventory and journal when the new run begins rather than assuming every object or story condition transfers (TechRadar).
NG+ adds more than a stronger starting character. It includes expanded cutscenes, documents, rooms, and clues that offer additional context. New material also feeds into routes and collectibles, including a research-journal photo that starts the Sacred Sword puzzle, along with newly accessible spaces and other NG+ items (PowerPyx’s collectible guide).

How alternate endings are chosen
Spoilers: the following summarizes ending conditions. The specialist ending guide says the route is determined by conditions before Hinako enters the Shimizu residence. Plan your route before that point; entering the residence locks the ending path (PowerPyx’s endings guide).
| Ending | Broad route conditions |
|---|---|
| Coming Home to Roost | Complete the story on the first run. |
| Fox’s Wedding | Avoid Red Capsules; either purify the Sacred Sword or do not obtain it; obtain Agura no Hotei-sama. |
| The Fox Wets Its Tail | Avoid Red Capsules and obtain the unpurified Sacred Sword. |
| Ebisugaoka in Silence | Complete two different full endings on the save, avoid Red Capsules, purify the Sacred Sword, and offer the Brooch. The guide says this requires at least three full completions. |
| The Great Space Invasion! (UFO) | Listen to the UFO broadcast, inspect three movie posters in order, and find the review. The guide describes this as achievable in NG+. |
These are route summaries rather than a step-by-step puzzle walkthrough. Use the linked guide for the specific item locations and actions if you want to pursue one ending without missing its prerequisites.

Why Red Capsules matter
Do not use Red Capsules on routes that require avoiding them. Konami’s patch 1.11 notes document a specific NG+ sequence: if you reach the front-door keys to Shu’s house without having used a Red Capsule, capsule placements are removed in that sequence, triggering the no-capsule condition required for certain endings. This does not establish that capsules disappear everywhere, or that picking one up is always harmless (Konami patch notes). The ending guide recommends avoiding and removing them from your inventory to reduce the risk of accidental use.

Konami added an optional skip in patch 1.10, dated November 13, 2025. In NG+, after completing the “Go through the door” objective following the mural puzzle, you can skip selected early sections and resume when Hinako awakens in the Dark Shrine corridor for the second time (Konami patch notes).

| Choice | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Play the full run | Keep access to items in the sections the skip bypasses and eligibility for the three achievements listed in the patch notes. |
| Use the skip | Save replay time. Items in skipped sections are not collected, and “Thankful to Be Here,” “Grateful for a Worthy Foe,” and “Clear Skies” do not unlock on a run using the skip. Konami says branching paths and endings are unaffected. |
Choose a full run if you are collecting items or pursuing those achievements. If your aim is simply to reach another ending and you have the required clear data, the patch notes say the skip does not alter ending branches. Patch 1.10 also added Casual action difficulty for a New Game+ save.

A practical route plan
- Finish the first run. This establishes the cleared-game data; the first completion yields Coming Home to Roost.
- Choose your priority for the next run. Take the full route for skipped-area items and the three affected achievements, or select the optional skip to shorten a replay.
- Set your ending conditions before the Shimizu residence. Consult the ending route you want and collect or avoid its required items accordingly.
- For a no-Red-Capsules route, do not use one. Keep the condition in mind through the Shu’s house keys sequence; the patch 1.11 behavior applies to that specific sequence.
- Track full completions and distinct endings. Ebisugaoka in Silence has prerequisites spanning multiple endings and the guide says it takes at least three full completions.
