Yes, you can get alerts when a Nintendo Switch game on your Wish List goes on sale. Nintendo documents email alerts for website Wish List items when promotional emails are enabled, and its Nintendo Store app has a separate setting for Wish List sale notifications. Independent price trackers add advertised price history, regional comparisons, and custom price alerts. To decide whether an offer is current and relevant to you, verify it in the correct regional Nintendo storefront and check its end date.
What each kind of alert does
Nintendo’s Wish List and price trackers address related but different questions. A Wish List notification tells you when an item you saved is released or goes on sale, depending on the notification channel and settings. A tracker may help answer a different question: how the current listed price compares with a recorded history, or whether it has reached a price you chose.

Neither kind of alert is a substitute for checking the live listing. Nintendo’s sales page is dynamic, so prices, discounts, eligible products, and offer end dates can change. A tracker’s regional or historical information is useful context, but it does not establish that a particular offer is available or appropriate for your account.
How Nintendo Wish List sale notifications work
Website Wish List email
Nintendo’s March 16, 2020 announcement describes adding a game to the Wish List from its game page after signing in to a Nintendo Account. It says a saved game can prompt an email when it is released or goes on sale, provided promotional emails are enabled for the account. Nintendo’s announcement put it this way: “By adding games to your Wish List, you’ll also receive a heads up via email whenever a game in your list is released or goes on sale.”

That statement documents the behavior Nintendo described at the time; it is not a guarantee that every current account interface or regional storefront uses identical controls. If you do not receive an email, check the current Nintendo Account communication and promotional-email settings, confirm that the game is still on your Wish List, and allow for the possibility that the listing or notification behavior has changed since the announcement. The announcement does not specify how quickly an alert arrives or promise an email for every offer type.
Nintendo Store app notifications
The Nintendo Store app has its own notification controls, separate from website promotional-email preferences. Nintendo’s support FAQ gives this path: open the User Page, tap the settings gear, choose Notifications, and enable Sales (for items on your Wish List). Game-release notifications for Wish List items are a separate toggle, so enabling release alerts is not the same as enabling sale alerts.
Nintendo says the app is available for iOS and Android in regions where eShop is available. Its Americas availability list includes Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and the United States. That list is region-specific, not a universal statement about availability in every country. Check the local app listing and Nintendo support information if the app does not appear in your store or its settings differ.

The same support FAQ says physical-item purchases through the app are available only in the United States and Canada. This does not limit the separate Wish List sale-notification function to those two countries; it is a limitation on app purchases of physical items.
Where to confirm a current Nintendo offer
Nintendo’s US Sales & Deals page lists offers for digital games and downloadable content and invites shoppers to check back for featured offers. Treat it as a current storefront view, not a permanent price list: the offer count, individual prices, discount amounts, availability, and sale end dates can change.
When you see an alert or a tracker entry, open the relevant Nintendo storefront listing and verify the details there before buying. Make sure the product is the game or DLC you intended, the offer is still active, and the displayed price and currency belong to the region you mean to use. An old notification, saved screenshot, or tracker record may describe an offer that has ended.

What independent price trackers can add
Nintendo’s cited app support documents Wish List sale notifications, but the sources here do not establish that Nintendo provides a historical price chart. Independent trackers advertise that kind of context. Their feature and coverage statements should be treated as claims made by the services, not as independently measured guarantees.

| NTPrices | Its guide describes price history, regional eShop prices, and custom target-price email alerts. It says prices are refreshed daily. | These are NTPrices’ own descriptions and may change; the stated daily refresh is the service’s claim, not an independent measurement. |
| NT Deals | Its App Store listing advertises price history and statistics, desired-price alerts, and price comparisons across regions. | The listing marks some capabilities as premium. User reviews are anecdotal and do not verify coverage or reliability. |
A history chart can help distinguish a price that looks low from one that appears low only against a recent, short record. For a newer game or a platform with limited recorded history, the available window may be too short to establish a meaningful long-term low. A tracker’s label such as “all-time low,” if offered, should therefore be read in light of how much history it actually has for that game and region.
Trackers also differ in the practical details that matter to a buyer. Before relying on one, look for which storefronts and regions it covers, how far back its history reaches, whether it identifies a recorded low, how alerts are triggered, how often prices are refreshed, and whether useful features require payment. The supplied service descriptions do not establish all of these details for both products, so check each service’s current feature information rather than assuming that a feature is included.

How to set a useful target-price alert
A custom alert is most useful when the price you choose represents a real buying decision. NTPrices recommends target-price alerts as part of its own service guidance. You do not need to pick an arbitrary round number: decide what price would make you ready to purchase, then use that as the threshold if the tracker supports it.
- Choose the exact game and edition. Confirm that the tracker entry matches the intended game, edition, and platform listing. A price record for another product is not a reliable reference for the item you plan to buy.
- Check the relevant region and currency. Select the storefront region you use where possible. A comparison across regions can show a price difference, but it does not by itself establish that buying from another region is suitable for your account.
- Review the available history. Note the record’s time span and how often the service says it refreshes. A short record is a limited comparison, not proof of a game’s long-term typical price.
- Set a threshold tied to your decision. If an alert can be set for a desired price, choose a figure at which you would genuinely consider buying. A notification is a prompt to check the live listing, not confirmation that the offer remains available.
- Verify the Nintendo listing when alerted. Recheck region, product, current price, and sale end date in the storefront before making a purchase.
A reliable routine for catching a sale
- Save the game. Add it to the Nintendo website Wish List or the Nintendo Store app Wish List using the channel you intend to monitor.
- Enable the matching notification. For website email, make sure Nintendo promotional emails are enabled. In the app, open User Page > settings gear > Notifications and turn on Sales (for items on your Wish List). Release alerts are separate.
- Use the regional Nintendo offer page. Check Nintendo’s Sales & Deals page for the relevant storefront, then inspect the game’s listing for the current offer and end date. The Nintendo US page is specifically a US storefront resource; use the appropriate local storefront elsewhere.
- Add history only if it changes your decision. Consult a tracker if you want context on past prices or a threshold alert. Check its region, history window, update claim, and feature limits before treating the data as useful for this purchase.
- Make the final decision from the live listing. Confirm the offer is still active and matches your intended account/store region. Do not assume that a cross-region price comparison means the other region’s listing is available or usable for you.
Common reasons an alert or price comparison can mislead
- The wrong notification is enabled. In Nintendo’s app, game-release alerts and Wish List sales are separate settings. On the website, Nintendo’s documented sale email depends on promotional-email opt-in.
- You are looking at a different regional price. Currency and storefront region matter. A price displayed for another region is not automatically the price offered to your account.
- The sale has ended. Dynamic offer pages and listings can change after an email or tracker record appears. Recheck the live Nintendo listing and its end date.
- The price history is too short. A limited record may not support a meaningful long-term comparison, especially for a newer game or platform.
- A feature is paid or not covered. NT Deals’ App Store listing marks some features as premium. Check the current service listing for what is included before depending on a particular alert or comparison.
- A service claim is mistaken for independent verification. NTPrices’ daily refresh and feature descriptions, and NT Deals’ advertised features, are statements from those services. They should not be treated as guarantees of every price record or alert.
Funding a planned digital purchase
Nintendo’s support FAQ says the Nintendo Store app can redeem a Nintendo eShop Card. A card can be an optional way to fund a planned digital purchase, but it is not required to create a Wish List, receive a sale notification, or track a price. It does not itself provide a discount or establish that a game is on sale.
