Community posts reported an Elden Ring crack around the game’s February 2022 launch window, but the available records do not verify exactly when it first became publicly available. Bandai Namco’s PC schedule put the unlock at 11:00 p.m. GMT on February 24, 2022; community posts associating the game with PLAZA appeared on February 25 and 26.
What the launch timeline shows
| Date | What was reported | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| February 21, 2022 | Bandai Namco Europe published its regional release schedule. It listed the PC unlock as February 24 at 11:00 p.m. GMT, which was midnight on February 25 in CET. Bandai Namco’s global release timings | The official scheduled PC release time in those time zones. Console unlocks differed by platform and region. |
| February 24, 2022 | Bandai Namco Europe published version 1.02 patch notes and said distribution of a stability patch had begun. Version 1.02 patch notes | Launch-period update context, not evidence about a crack. |
| February 25, 2022 | Bandai Namco America announced the game was available for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via Steam. Bandai Namco’s release announcement | An official availability announcement; it does not establish when an unauthorized copy appeared. |
| February 25–26, 2022 | Posts on r/CrackWatch associated Elden Ring with PLAZA. February 25 post and February 25 release list, surfaced as posted February 26 | That crack reports circulated in the community around launch. Post dates do not independently verify public availability time. |
How soon after launch was it?
The strongest defensible answer is: reports appeared during the launch window, on the day of the scheduled PC release and the following day. That is not the same as proving the crack became publicly available at a particular hour or a specific number of hours after the official unlock. A post’s publication date can show when a claim circulated, not when the underlying release first became accessible.

Why “launch” depends on platform and region
Bandai Namco’s schedule was regional, and PC and console unlocks did not all fall at the same moment. For example, its PC schedule shows 11:00 p.m. GMT on February 24 and 12:00 a.m. CET on February 25. So a claim that the crack arrived “just after launch” depends on which platform and local release time is meant. The dated community posts alone cannot resolve that comparison.

PCGamingWiki lists Steam and Arxan Anti-Tamper DRM for all versions, but it is a community-maintained technical reference rather than an official account of the crack or its timing. PCGamingWiki’s technical reference Bandai Namco’s February 25 launch notice addressed mouse sensitivity, a particular Easy Anti-Cheat launch failure, and frame-rate and performance problems; it did not connect those issues to the crack.
