In Helldivers 2, supply lines are the connections between planets that determine where the Galactic War can expand. A planet can be close on the map—or named in a Major Order—and still be unavailable to attack if there is no open route to it. Check the live Galactic Map before choosing a destination.
What supply lines do
Supply lines govern planetary access during the Galactic War. To launch an offensive against a planet, there must be a valid connected route to it from a planet controlled by Super Earth. The map is therefore more than a planet selector: its connections show which targets are currently reachable.

Arrowhead Game Studios explains that supply lines were once hidden to reduce map clutter: “Supply lines were previously not shown on the Galactic War map to reduce clutter and improve readability.” Patch 01.000.400 added the lines to the in-game map and information about the planet an attack originates from. How routes open and close
Capturing a planet on a route can make a farther planet accessible. A March 2024 Windows Central guide gave Estanu and Fori Prime as an example: liberating Estanu opened access to Fori Prime. The reverse can matter too. If Super Earth loses a planet that connects to planets farther along a route, access to those planets may be cut off, putting liberation efforts there at risk. A planet’s apparent proximity does not override the route network.
How to choose where to deploy
Before committing a squad, open the current Galactic Map and assess the destination against three questions:

- Is it reachable? Confirm that the map shows a connected route to the planet from a Super Earth-controlled position.
- Does it serve the current objective? Check whether it advances an active campaign or Major Order; an objective does not by itself make an unreachable planet attackable.
- Does it protect a route? Consider whether taking or defending the planet helps preserve access to other targets along the chain.

Planet access is campaign-dependent, so a route that existed during one operation is not proof that it is open now. For an actual deployment decision, trust the current Galactic Map: verify the route, then weigh the reachable targets against the active objective and the strategic value of the connecting planets.
