The Black Ops 7 beta is over. Its free Open Beta ended October 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. PT, so it is no longer possible to join or claim the beta-window GobbleGum Monster Pack. This guide explains how access and the promotion worked during the event, and how they differ from the editions currently listed for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
When was the Black Ops 7 beta, and can you still play it?
No. Activision scheduled Early Access to start October 2, 2025, at 10 a.m. PT, followed by the public Open Beta from October 5 at 10 a.m. PT until October 8 at 10 a.m. PT. Each period was scheduled to last 72 hours. The public period was free and open to all players on all platforms, but that access ended with the event. Activision’s beta announcement gives the event dates and access rules.

How access worked during the beta
Pre-ordering was one way to get into Early Access, not a requirement for the public Open Beta. The entry path depended on how you accessed the game:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
| Access route | What it provided during the event |
|---|---|
| Digital pre-order | Any digital edition pre-order automatically registered the buyer for Early Access; no Beta Code was needed. |
| Physical console pre-order | Buyers at select retailers were expected to receive a Beta Code at purchase. This was not stated as a universal offer across all retailers or PC physical editions. |
| Eligible Game Pass subscription | The later official guide specified select Xbox Game Pass plans on console and PC. Not every Game Pass plan was confirmed as eligible. |
| No pre-order | No purchase was required for the free Open Beta, which was open to all players on all platforms during its scheduled public window. |
These rules are historical: none provides access now that the beta has ended. Activision’s September 30 beta guide clarified Game Pass eligibility and download options.
#1 Best Overall
- STANDARD DIGITAL EDITION – Includes Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows devices.
- CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS 7 – Treyarch and Raven Software are bringing players the most mind-bending Black Ops ever.
- CAMPAIGN MODE – Squad up or go solo in an innovative Co-Op Campaign that redefines the Black Ops experience. Take on high-stakes challenges across a wide spectrum of environments, from the neon-lit rooftops of Japan to the Mediterranean coast, and even into the deepest corners of the human psyche.
- MULTIPLAYER MODE – Multiplayer explodes out of the gate with 16 electrifying 6v6 maps and two 20v20 maps at launch. From futuristic Tokyo vistas to the frozen, unforgiving wilds of Alaska, every environment is brimming with danger and opportunity. Master a cutting-edge arsenal and outmaneuver your enemies with an evolved Omnimovement system.
- ROUND-BASED ZOMBIES MODE – The nightmare begins where reality ends. Trapped in the heart of the Dark Aether, the crew is thrust into a vast, ever-shifting hellscape. This isn’t just survival. It’s a descent into madness.
How players downloaded the beta
During the event, Activision directed players to download the beta through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Battle.net, or Steam. These were event-era download routes, not evidence that the beta remains available in those stores. PC players also needed TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot; Activision noted that other security measures could be enforced. Requirements for a future beta, if announced, may differ.
What was the GobbleGum Monster Pack bonus?
The Monster Pack was a separate, time-limited beta promotion—not a bonus that comes with every Black Ops 7 pre-order today. In its September 30, 2025 Call of Duty: NEXT recap, Call of Duty Staff said: “Preorder either the digital or Vault Edition version of Black Ops 7 before the end of the Black Ops 7 Beta and then log into Call of Duty before the Beta ends, and you’ll instantly receive the GobbleGum Monster Pack!”

The offer required both a qualifying digital or Vault Edition pre-order before the beta ended and a Call of Duty login before the October 8, 2025, 10 a.m. PT deadline. It has expired. The pack’s contents were:
- Nine Rare GobbleGums, one of each.
- Nine Epic GobbleGums, one of each.
- Ten Legendary GobbleGums, one of each.
- Three Perkaholic GobbleGums.
Activision said the items were delivered to and usable in Black Ops 6, and unused GobbleGums would also be available in Black Ops 7 at launch. That historical transfer detail does not make the expired pack claimable now.

What the beta included
Activision described the event as a Multiplayer and Zombies Survival Beta. Its guide covered six multiplayer maps and six modes; the Call of Duty: NEXT recap named the maps Blackheart, Cortex, Exposure, Forge, Imprint, and Toshin. Vandorn Farm was the Zombies Survival map. These details describe the 2025 event, not a currently playable beta.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Are current Black Ops 7 edition contents the same as the beta bonus?
No. The official Black Ops 7 game page lists edition content including one season of BlackCell, a Guild Override Weapon Camo, an Operator Collection, a Mastercraft Weapon Collection, an Ultra GobbleGum Pack for Zombies, and a Permanent Unlock Token. Those listed items are distinct from the expired GobbleGum Monster Pack promotion.
