Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →On Windows, your Rip It! Card Collector progress is stored in a SavedGame folder containing .bin files. Exit the game, copy that entire folder to a dated location outside the game directory, and keep a second copy on removable storage before reinstalling, replacing files, or moving to another PC. To restore, preserve the current folder, put the backed-up .bin files back in the documented location, then launch the game and verify your collection.
Where Rip It! Card Collector save files are located
SteamDB’s Windows user-file-system record lists the save folder as:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
%USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/CyberneticWalrus/Rip It! Card Collector/Data/SavedGame
The same record identifies the save pattern as *.bin. In a normal Windows installation, %USERPROFILE% resolves to your Windows account folder, such as C:UsersYourName. Do not substitute the Steam installation folder for this location: the documented saves are under your user profile’s AppDataLocalLow directory.

Open the folder directly
- Exit Rip It! Card Collector completely. If the game is still running, it may rewrite a save while you are copying it.
- Open File Explorer.
- Click the address bar, paste
%USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/CyberneticWalrus/Rip It! Card Collector/Data/SavedGame, and press Enter. - Confirm that the folder contains one or more files ending in
.bin. The exact filenames and number of files can vary as the game saves.
If the address does not open, check that the game has been launched at least once under the Windows account you are using, that the spelling and spaces in Rip It! Card Collector are unchanged, and that you pasted the complete path. Windows may hide AppData in normal browsing, but pasting the complete address into File Explorer can still open it.
What to do before making a backup
A reliable backup is a closed-game, whole-folder copy. The objective is to capture every save file together, not just the file that looks newest.
- Close the game: leave to the desktop and wait until the game process has ended before copying.
- Use the whole folder: select
SavedGameitself so all.binfiles are included. - Choose a destination outside the game’s working directory: a dated folder elsewhere on the internal drive is a first copy; removable storage provides independence from that drive.
- Keep the original until the copy is checked: do not move or cut the files for a backup. Use copy and paste.
The copy-and-restore method described here is a practical file-management procedure based on the documented Windows path and file pattern. It is not an official in-game recovery utility.

How to back up your progress step by step
- Exit Rip It! Card Collector. Do not begin the copy from a live session.
- Open the documented save location. Paste the full path into File Explorer’s address bar and press Enter.
- Select the complete
SavedGamefolder. Copy it withCtrl+C, or right-click and choose Copy. Include every.binfile and any other files that are present. - Create a dated backup folder. A useful name is
RipIt-Card-Collector-SavedGame-2026-10-19. Use the date you made the copy, and add a short note if you are recording a milestone such as “before reinstall.” - Paste the folder into that destination. Keep the original
SavedGamefolder in its documented location. - Make an independent second copy. Copy the dated folder to a USB flash drive or portable SSD. This protects the backup from a failed internal drive, an accidental overwrite, or an unwanted cloud synchronization result.
- Verify the copies. Open the dated destination and the removable-storage copy in File Explorer. Confirm that the folder opens and that the expected
.binfiles are visible. Do not delete the original or either backup until both copies are present.
For a one-time reinstall, one dated local copy may be sufficient, but keeping two copies gives you a recovery option if one destination is corrupted or overwritten. Retain multiple dated snapshots when you are experimenting with replacements or moving between computers; each snapshot gives you a known point to return to.
Choosing a backup destination
The game files are small enough that the important decision is not raw capacity but whether you can keep dated versions safely separate from the working save. The following choices use the practical differences between removable media types.
| Destination | Best use | Portability | Capacity and durability considerations | Independence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dated folder on another internal-drive location | Fast first copy and a convenient rollback point | Limited to that PC | Uses existing storage; it does not protect against failure of the same drive | Lower, because the copy remains on the computer |
| USB flash drive | Carrying a small save backup between computers | Easiest to carry | Choose enough space for several dated snapshots and handle the drive carefully when moving it | High when disconnected after copying |
| Portable SSD | Several snapshots or a wider PC backup alongside the game save | Portable, with more room for broader backups | Choose capacity for the number of snapshots and other files you plan to retain; use a device suited to frequent transport | High when disconnected after copying |
Removable storage is useful because it is offline when unplugged. That separation matters before a reinstall or file replacement: it gives you a copy that a later save operation cannot silently update.

How to restore a .bin save after reinstalling
Restoration should be reversible. Preserve whatever is currently on the computer before putting the older files back.
Recommended Free Tools
- Exit the game completely. A running game can recreate or overwrite files while you work.
- Open the documented save location. In File Explorer, paste
%USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/CyberneticWalrus/Rip It! Card Collector/Data/SavedGame. - Preserve the current folder. If
SavedGameexists, rename it to something such asSavedGame-before-restore-2026-10-19. This is your rollback copy if the restored progress is not the version you expected. - Recreate the expected folder if necessary. If the game or reinstall did not create
SavedGame, create a folder named exactlySavedGameinsideData. - Open your dated backup. Copy the backed-up
.binfiles into the restoredSavedGamefolder. Copy rather than move so the external backup remains intact. - Launch the game. Check the collection and other visible progress before deleting the renamed rollback folder or any dated backup.
- Keep the rollback until verification is complete. Once the expected progress is confirmed, you can decide how long to retain the temporary folder, but keep at least one dated backup on independent storage.
If the game opens with newer or empty progress, exit without making further changes, preserve the current folder again, and repeat the procedure with another dated snapshot. Do not overwrite your only backup while troubleshooting.
Moving the save to another Windows PC
A local file copy is the clearest way to control a transfer. On the original PC, close the game and copy the entire SavedGame folder to a dated folder and then to a USB flash drive or portable SSD. On the destination PC:

- Install and launch Rip It! Card Collector once under the intended Windows account, then exit it. This can create the game’s expected folder structure.
- Open
%USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/CyberneticWalrus/Rip It! Card Collector/Datain File Explorer. - If a new
SavedGamefolder exists, rename it as a temporary rollback copy. - Create
SavedGameif it is missing. - Copy the backed-up
.binfiles into that folder. - Launch the game and verify the collection before removing the temporary folder or the external backup.
This procedure assumes the destination uses Windows and the same documented folder layout. It does not establish that the saves are interchangeable with a different operating system, a different edition, or a different account configuration.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What Steam Cloud does—and what it does not confirm
SteamDB’s metadata lists Rip It! Card Collector as Steam Cloud-enabled. That label is useful, but the available listing does not specify when this title synchronizes, how long versions are retained, whether a conflict prompt appears, or whether Steam provides a manual download action for a particular save.
For that reason, treat Steam Cloud as a convenience rather than your only recovery plan. Make the dated local copy before reinstalling, changing PCs, or replacing files. If Steam presents a synchronization choice, stop and preserve both the local folder and your external backup before selecting an option; the metadata does not document which version the game will prefer in every situation.

Apple’s general platform guidance says that supported games can use iCloud and Game Center to keep progress and game saves up to date across devices when the same Apple Account is used. That guidance does not show that Rip It! Card Collector uses iCloud, so the Windows procedure above should not be extended to Apple devices without title-specific evidence.
Troubleshooting backup and restore problems
The path opens, but no .bin files are visible
- Confirm that the game is fully closed and that you are using the Windows account that played it.
- Check that you pasted the complete path, including
CyberneticWalrus, the spaces in the title,Data, andSavedGame. - Launch the game once, exit, and check the location again. The documented record identifies the folder and pattern, but it does not define a separate save-creation command.
The folder is missing after reinstalling
Open the parent Data folder and create a folder named SavedGame if needed. Then copy the backed-up .bin files into it. Preserve any existing folder by renaming it first, rather than deleting it.
The game still shows the wrong progress
- Exit without continuing to play or saving over the result.
- Rename the current
SavedGamefolder to preserve it. - Try a different dated snapshot, if you made one, and copy its
.binfiles into a newly recreatedSavedGamefolder. - Keep the external backup untouched until the expected collection appears.
A copy operation reports an error
Do not assume a partially copied folder is usable. Cancel the operation, check that the destination has enough free space, reconnect the removable drive if necessary, and copy the complete dated folder again. Verify that the destination opens and contains the expected files before treating it as a backup.

Because synchronization timing, conflict handling, and retention are not documented for this title in the available metadata, preserve the local and external copies before making another choice. Close the game, rename the current folder, and restore from your dated backup only after you have a copy of the files that Steam may have changed.
Verification checklist
- The game was closed before the copy or restore.
- The backup contains the entire
SavedGamefolder, not just one selected file. - The save files use the documented
.binpattern. - The backup folder name includes a date or another clear version label.
- A second copy exists on a USB flash drive or portable SSD and opens correctly.
- Before restoration, the current
SavedGamefolder was renamed rather than deleted. - After restoration, the collection and progress were checked in-game before any rollback copy was removed.
Limits of this method
The documented evidence covers the Windows save path, the .bin pattern, and Steam Cloud metadata. It does not publish a game-specific recovery tool, a guaranteed cloud-retention policy, a synchronization schedule, or a cross-platform save format. The safest supported conclusion is therefore procedural: preserve the complete Windows folder while the game is closed, keep dated copies outside the working directory, and restore by copying those files back after preserving the current folder.
