Captain Lotus-Vision is an optional Chapter 3 Yaoguai Chief in the Pagoda Realm. Reach the arena from the Upper Pagoda Shrine, then fight patiently: dodge its ranged attacks, wait for a finished volley or a low, reachable recovery, and only then commit to damage. Defeating it removes the purple seals on prison cells and advances the captain-item route.
Where to find Captain Lotus-Vision
From the Upper Pagoda Shrine in the Pagoda Realm, turn around and drop down into the arena. The encounter is optional. The encounter guide, updated February 14, 2026, covers the launch version and current PC and console patches without identifying a specific patch number. The Wukong Wiki also lists the shrine route.

How to handle its ranged attacks
Projectile volleys
Captain Lotus-Vision floats and attacks with magic, so watch the volley rather than rushing in. Avoid dodging at the first hint of a spread if more shots are still coming; wait for the string to finish, then close in during the opening. PowerPyx’s video guide, published August 24, 2024, suggests dodging forward through orb volleys to close distance. Treat that as a situational tactic, not a guaranteed safe dodge for every sequence.
Lasers
When the laser cue appears, stop attacking and dodge cleanly. The attack is quick and may be followed by another strike, so do not extend a combo in the hope of squeezing in one more hit. PowerPyx also describes floor-laser patterns and recommends jumping or dodging through them; choose your response from the cue and spacing rather than assuming one move works every time.

When to attack and use spells
The boss can rise above melee range. If your attacks cannot reach, stop swinging, keep track of incoming magic, and reposition until it drops low enough to hit. Your safest damage windows are after an attack string ends or while the boss is low and recovering.
Save Immobilize, your Spirit, and other burst damage for a reachable opening, rather than spending them while the boss is moving out of range. Cloud Step can help you recover from a mistake or create a safer moment to heal, but the encounter guide does not present it as a required build. The core tactic is patience: avoid attacking empty air and leave when a new attack cue begins.

Is Captain Lotus-Vision required, and what does it unlock?
The encounter is optional, but defeating the boss has a useful effect in the Pagoda Realm: it dispels the purple seals on prison cells, letting you return and open them. The boss also contributes to the Third Prince/captain item route. Pick up or absorb the Captain Lotus-Vision item before leaving, then check the prison route again.

The encounter guide lists Frostsprout Twig, Mind Core, and The Spirit of Captain Lotus-Vision. It clarifies that the Captain Lotus-Vision item is a key item for the route, not an equippable combat Spirit. The Wukong Wiki additionally lists Refined Iron Sand ×2 and Yaoguai Core. The sources differ in how fully they enumerate rewards, so these lists should not be treated as an exhaustive, reconciled drop table.
