To beat Devourer in The First Descendant, focus your team on its weak points, and switch to the healing symbiotes as soon as they appear. Destroying those units quickly is the key advice in a July 2024 player guide; treat its other Devourer-specific tips—Electric damage and Toxic resistance—as older recommendations, and check the current in-game encounter screen before building around them.
Prepare for the current Devourer encounter
Devourer is fought through Void Intercept Battle. Before you queue, open the current encounter screen and check its recommendations: balance and mode details can change with updates. Nexon’s general advice is: “Identify the Boss’ Weak Points. Then select your Attributes, Weapons, and Modules to increase the chances of clearing the Intercept Battle.” Nexon’s Void Intercept guide

- Build for the fight, not a fixed recipe. Choose a Descendant, weapons, and modules that let you survive the Colossus while dealing reliable damage to its weak points. Nexon says attributes can increase damage dealt or reduce damage taken, and identifies Non-Attribute, Fire, Chill, Electric, and Toxic as the available attribute categories. Nexon’s Descendant guide
- Use Electric and Toxic advice cautiously. A July 2024 player guide describes Devourer as weak to Electricity and recommends Toxic resistance. Those are historical community tips, not a verified current resistance table; check the live encounter recommendations rather than relying on a numeric threshold or assumed multiplier. - Upgrade the modules you rely on. A sensible balance is enough survivability to stay in the fight and enough weapon damage to land useful weak-point hits. The official guidance supports adapting your setup to the Colossus, but does not establish one best Descendant or build.
- Check the unlock in-game. Older guides list levels and quest prerequisites that may no longer match current menus. Use the quest and Void Intercept screens for the current route rather than treating older level or unlock details as definitive.

Keep damage on exposed weak points
Aim at the highlighted weak points whenever you have a clear shot. Nexon’s Void Intercept advice explicitly calls for identifying weak points and selecting gear accordingly. Accurate, sustained hits are more useful than scattering fire across the Colossus.

Switch to the symbiotes when they appear
A July 2024 community guide reports that Devourer summons symbiotes that heal it, and advises destroying them promptly. When the units appear, call the target switch and concentrate team fire on them instead of splitting damage between the symbiotes and the boss. Once they are gone, return to Devourer’s weak points. This healing-phase advice comes from community guidance, not a current official mechanic specification. The cited material does not establish exact phase timing, unit count, or healing amount, so use what you see in the live encounter rather than planning around a fixed number.
Coordinate target changes
If teammates keep attacking Devourer while others handle the symbiotes, the team’s damage is divided and the healing units may stay alive longer. Make the switch clear, finish the adds together, then resume weak-point damage.

What changed in Void Intercept modes
Nexon’s July 15, 2026 Update 1.3.34 renamed Void Intercept Battle: Hard to Void Intercept Battle: Extreme. The patch says Extreme contains the same Colossi as the previous Hard mode; defeating all Extreme Colossi unlocks Critical Point Breakthrough. This is a mode-level naming and progression change, not a Devourer-specific balance update. Nexon Update 1.3.34
Older encounter guides may therefore use labels, levels, or unlock steps that are stale. Follow the current in-game menus for the mode and requirements available to your account.

Is solo or a particular build better?
The available guidance does not establish a universally best build or prove that solo is easier. Solo may give you more control over when to switch targets, while a coordinated team can focus fire on the symbiotes; choose based on how you prefer to manage the encounter. No current solo-scaling values are established here, so do not assume the boss will be easier simply because you queue alone.
There are no independently verified current Devourer stats or numeric resistance values to rely on. Use the in-game encounter recommendations and judge your setup by whether you can survive, hit weak points consistently, and clear the healing units promptly.
