Other festivals are gift-giving or social events, so success means bringing the right item and starting the event at the right time. Check your in-game calendar each season: the Year 1 dates in Fogu’s calendar shift in later years.
First, identify what each festival actually asks you to do
Not every festival is a competition with a score or trophy. The official Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar web manual describes seasonal crop and animal shows, pet shows, and a horse derby, alongside celebrations and cooking events. Its general rule for crop and animal judging is simple: better crop quality and stronger animal affection improve the score. Fogu provides additional contest thresholds and event instructions below.

Use your save’s calendar, not a fixed date list
Fogu’s seasonal calendar is explicitly based on Year 1 and warns that festival dates shift as the in-game years progress. Each season has 31 days, but that does not make a Year 1 festival date universal. Check the calendar in your own save at the start of each season and plan harvests, gifts, cooking equipment, and invitations around the dates shown there.

The festivals below are grouped by season. The calendar page includes New Year’s Countdown, but the available event details do not specify an entry requirement or a way to win it; treat it as a celebration rather than assuming it has a judged contest.

Shared preparation for the judged contests
Crop Shows: freshness first, then stars
Fogu reports that a crop entry must be Perfectly Fresh. Its reported medal thresholds are 2 stars for bronze, 5 for silver, and 7 for gold. A crop win raises the maximum quality available for that crop category, so a show can help improve later harvests as well as award a prize. Consider choosing a crop that can be harvested again before a later contest; Fogu specifically notes repeat-harvest broccoli as a winter option. Branded crops lose the brand when processed or cooked, according to Fogu, so enter the crop itself rather than converting it first.
Animal Shows: health, relationship, and rank progression
Enter the healthiest suitable animal you have, with the strongest friendship and happiness. Fogu reports combined friendship-and-happiness thresholds of 5 markers for bronze, 10 for silver, and 16 for gold. You must win the previous tier before entering the next one, so a gold attempt requires an earlier silver win. If the animal you used before is no longer your best option, Fogu says you can advance the same animal family’s rank with a different family member in a later contest. A sick animal loses winning potential, making a full health bar part of preparation, not just a bonus.
Pet Shows: train before the prompts begin
The official manual confirms that pet shows test your relationship with a pet through button prompts. Fogu describes ten tricks per contest; correctly enter each requested sequence, and pause to review the buttons if you need time. Training raises the value of tricks: Fogu reports 10 points at any training level, 15 with two training icons, 20 with five, and 25 with eight. Those figures make practice and training more useful than relying on a last-second perfect run with an untrained pet.
Horse Derbies: prepare for the seasonal course
The summer derby scores chained gate jumps, while winter’s course scores collected bells. Carrots restore stamina in both descriptions, but do not add summer derby points. The mechanics and score targets differ, so use the seasonal instructions below rather than approaching both races as the same event.
Spring festivals
Flower Festival
This is a two-day gift event, not a judged flower contest. On day one, speak to Mayor Felix in the plaza between noon and 4 p.m. to start it; gifts given before the event begins do not count. Then give flowers around town. On day two, villagers gather at noon, giving you a chance to deliver gifts to anyone you missed. Fogu says at least 20 counted flower gifts earn Best Neighbor and a small prize; 19 or fewer earn nothing. Farm-grown flowers are rated better than wild ones, and bouquets are described as the best choice.
Animal Show
The Animal Show begins in year two. Choose your healthiest animal with the strongest combined friendship and happiness markers, and use the bronze-to-silver-to-gold progression described above. The exact Friday varies with the season calendar, so check your save rather than assuming one fixed spring date.

Honey Day
Give honey, one of the specified honey variants, or Honey Cake to marriage candidates. The special festival gift is separate from the normal daily gift. Honey Cake requires Wheat Flour, Egg, and Honey, so save honey ahead of time if you plan to make it. Fogu says the café sells honey only on the event day; the first-year tutorial also provides honey and a recipe, according to Fogu.
Crop Show
Enter a perfectly fresh crop from the current season. Use the star-rank thresholds in the crop-show section to target the medal you have not yet won.
Tea Party
Bring loose tea leaves, canned tea, or drinkable tea. Speak to the mayor in the plaza between noon and 4 p.m. Fogu reports that an offering of at least 4 stars earns the best reward band; lower-quality tea gives smaller rewards.
Summer festivals
Pet Show
Talk to Woofio in the plaza between noon and 4 p.m., select your pet, and enter the button sequence for each trick. There are ten tricks in Fogu’s account of the contest. Training increases trick points, so use the preparation guidance above and pause to inspect a sequence when needed.
Animal Show
Pick a healthy animal with strong friendship and happiness, then pursue the next rank in sequence. Fogu says a gold win adds a BRAND mark to the relevant animal-family output and that winning improves the quality ceiling for goods from that family.

Summer is the gate-jumping derby. Chain successful jumps to build the combo and score; hitting a gate resets the combo. Carrots restore stamina but do not score points, so use them to keep moving rather than treating them as collectibles. Fogu lists target scores of 3,001 for bronze, 6,001 for silver, and 9,001 for gold. Train beforehand and prioritize an uninterrupted run of jumps.

Cook-off
Submit a Main Dish recipe to Felix in the town plaza between noon and 4 p.m. Fogu says judging considers the dish’s base price and star rank; a 7-star dish is a strong contender, not a guaranteed win. Check the recipe before the event and obtain its required equipment: a recipe may call for a frying pan, pot, or oven.
Bake-off
Submit a dessert rather than a Main Dish. Aim for high star quality and base price. Check the recipe’s equipment requirement in advance: Fogu notes that some cakes and pies need an oven and donuts need a pot, while other desserts may require no extra utensil.
Animal Show
Use your strongest healthy animal and enter the next tier you have unlocked. Fogu’s reported requirements are 5 combined relationship markers for bronze, 10 for silver after a bronze win, and 16 for gold after a silver win.
Juice Festival
Bring a juice drink and speak to Felix in the plaza between noon and 4 p.m. Fogu says the first-year mayor’s tutorial gives you grape juice. A drink with at least 4 stars earns the top reward band; lower-star drinks earn smaller rewards.
Crop Show
Enter a perfectly fresh autumn crop. Aim for the medal’s reported star threshold, and remember that winning raises the future maximum star rank for that crop category.

Pumpkin Festival
This is a gift event for children who visit the farmhouse. Give each child an item in the dessert category when they arrive for the festival; an earlier gift counts only as a normal present. Plan the desserts ahead, since Fogu says the café is closed on the festival’s Thursday.
Winter festivals
Pet Show
As in summer, the show uses ten sequential trick prompts in Fogu’s account. Enter each sequence correctly, and train your pet beforehand so its tricks can be worth more points.
Hearth Day
Give villagers warm cooked meals whose recipe descriptions identify them as suitable Hearth Day gifts. Fogu lists warm milk, herb soup, egg drop soup, and hot coffee as examples. This festival gift is separate from a normal daily gift. Fogu says villagers with at least three hearts may give you a meal in return.
Animal Show
Enter a healthy animal with strong relationship markers and pursue the next tier available to you. Higher ranks require prior wins, following the same reported bronze, silver, and gold progression.
Horse Derby
Winter’s derby is a bell-collection course, not the summer jump-combo race. Fogu reports 20 points for each small bell and 200 for each large red bell; there is no combo bonus. Carrots along the route restore stamina. Win the prior course to unlock access to higher courses.

Enter a perfectly fresh winter crop and target the same reported thresholds: 2 stars for bronze, 5 for silver, and 7 for gold. Fogu identifies broccoli as a repeat-harvest winter crop, and lists apple, lemon, and orange tree fruit as eligible entries.
Starlight Night
This is a date, not a scored contest. Talk to a marriage candidate the day before and accept the invitation. Fogu says a candidate needs at least four hearts. Go to the assigned location and speak to your date between 8 p.m. and midnight to trigger the party.
