The clearest documented strategy for beating the 27 Rogue Mega Evolutions in Rogue Mega Rush is to use two Gourgeist to apply Trick-or-Treat, then switch to four Annihilape and build damage with Rage Fist. This postgame boss rush is only one part of the game’s Hyperspace content, however, so this guide covers that challenge and one separately documented Hyperspace side mission—not every possible Rogue Mega encounter.
What this guide covers—and what Rogue Mega Rush requires
Nintendo Everything’s December 19, 2025 strategy guide describes Rogue Mega Rush as a postgame challenge that unlocks after completing the base game, the Mega Dimension DLC story, and the postgame. Its reported format is demanding: defeat 27 Rogue Mega Evolutions with the same team, three full-team heals, no items, and no breaks.

That roster should not be mistaken for a confirmed list of every Rogue Mega encounter in Hyperspace. Separate side missions exist; the available sources do not establish that Rogue Mega Rush includes them all.
Build the team around Trick-or-Treat and Rage Fist
Gourgeist: apply Ghost typing and support
The guide recommends two Gourgeist. Use Trick-or-Treat to add Ghost typing to the opponent, and use Light Screen or Safeguard when the encounter calls for defensive support. The guide presents these as its recommended tactics, not as independently tested or guaranteed results.
#1 Best Overall
- Your journey will take you to all manner of sights in the streets arrayed around Prism Tower, including shops, restaurants, and places called wild zones—where Pokémon roam free.
- As you catch, train, and battle Pokémon, there will be plenty of people to meet too—like AZ, the enigmatic owner of Hotel Z.
Annihilape: exploit damage taken
Fill the remaining four slots with Annihilape and use Rage Fist, which grows stronger as Annihilape takes damage. The guide recommends Shell Bell to help Annihilape recover health and says to bring high-level, trained Pokémon. It does not specify a precise level, training spread, or guaranteed damage threshold.
Use a repeatable opening, but prioritize survival
- Start with Gourgeist. Apply Trick-or-Treat, then add Light Screen or Safeguard if the boss’s attacks make that support useful.
- Switch to Annihilape. Set up and attack with Rage Fist, following the guide’s recommended team plan.
- Watch the boss’s tells. If an attack threatens a wide area, targets the trainer, or fills the arena with projectiles, recall Annihilape and focus on dodging until the danger passes.
- Reapply Trick-or-Treat after a phase change. The guide notes that the effect must be applied again when a multi-phase opponent changes phase.
- Protect the trainer above all. A trainer knockout ends the run, according to the guide, so do not keep attacking through a dangerous telegraph just to maintain pressure.
Adjust to the boss’s specific hazards
The following encounter notes are tactics reported by Nintendo Everything’s strategy guide. They are not official developer instructions or independent test findings.
Mega Meowstic: avoid the psychic box
When Mega Meowstic creates its large psychic box, the guide advises against trying to break it while Annihilape is exposed. Dodge near the arena edge and recall your Pokémon until the hazard ends.

Mega Heatran and Mega Darkrai: guard against status
Use Safeguard to help prevent status effects that disrupt Annihilape. The guide says Darkrai’s drowsiness slows move recharge, making that protection especially relevant against it.
Mega Zeraora: recall through the projectile barrage
During Zeraora’s many Plasma Fists projectiles, recall Annihilape. Keep moving when Zeraora targets the trainer rather than trying to attack through the pattern.
Mega Absol Z: time Rage Fist around its sidestep
The guide warns that Mega Absol Z can sidestep Rage Fist. Its suggested response is to attack just before Absol attacks, rather than firing blindly while it is repositioning.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Hyperspace has encounters outside the boss rush
Serebii’s Rogue Mega Showdown listing says the side mission becomes available after starting Hyperspace Survey in Hyperspace Mission 3. In Hyperspace Lumiose, two Alpha Crabominable have Rogue Mega Evolved; defeating both awards the Crabominite Mega Stone. This is a separate mission example, not evidence that Rogue Mega Rush’s 27 bosses are the full Hyperspace roster.
What the DLC sources say about Hyperspace preparation
Nintendo’s Mega Dimension announcement says the DLC adds Hyperspace distortions and that special donuts grant different effects while in Hyperspace. It does not identify an optimal donut recipe for any Rogue Mega encounter, so there is no source-backed recipe recommendation here.
