Violet Spider is a Chapter 4 story boss in Webbed Hollow, at The Gathering Cave. The fight is mainly about managing poison and web patches while using a spell-and-spirit burst to create a safe damage window.
Where to find Violet Spider
In Chapter 4, proceed through Webbed Hollow to The Gathering Cave. The boss encounter starts as you continue from the shrine and reach a cutscene; PowerPyx describes it as an automatic main-story fight (PowerPyx’s Violet Spider guide).

Prepare for poison and web patches
- Poison: Violet Spider’s melee attacks can poison you, and the damage continues over time. Keep your health high and bring the in-game Antimiasma Powder. Game8 also recommends the powder and advises avoiding the boss’s green-claw attack rather than trying to trade hits (Game8’s boss guide).
- Web patches: The patches can make you stick to the floor and restrict movement. Avoid standing in them; if you get caught near one, dodge clear as soon as you can.
- Buffs: PowerPyx suggests using in-game medicine to raise attack and critical chance before the fight. These are game items, not real-world supplements.
Use an opening burst, then attack during openings
- Dodge the opening combo. Let the initial sequence finish rather than committing to attacks while Violet Spider is swinging.
- Cast Pluck of Many, then Immobilize. PowerPyx’s suggested opener uses these spells to set up damage while limiting the boss’s movement.
- Land a quick-attack combo and use the Wandering Wight spirit attack. Keep attacking while the boss is staggered, but stop to evade if she begins an attack or a web patch threatens to trap you.
- Use Cloud Step and Transformation as the opening burst ends. The guide recommends continuing the pressure through this sequence. It estimates that the burst may take a large share of her health, but that result is not guaranteed and will vary with your character setup and execution.
- Return to quick attacks and watch for the next safe opening. After the burst, keep up pressure when it is safe and use Immobilize again when it becomes available. Prioritize dodging green claws and escaping web patches over finishing a combo.
Game8 recommends staying behind Violet Spider when possible, which can help reduce exposure to her forward-facing attacks. Treat positioning as a way to create safer opportunities, not as a reason to ignore her attack cues.

Rewards and difficulty estimates
PowerPyx lists Refined Iron Sand, Spider Leg, Fine Gold Thread, and Gold Tree Core as rewards, and says the fight unlocks the Spider Celestial Staff for crafting. Its reward listing also refers to Will with phase-related wording, so check the in-game reward screen rather than relying on a definitive total.
