Zhu Bajie appears in two Chapter 4 encounters around the Hut of Immortality in Webbed Hollow. The first is a hut duel; the later fight takes place in a tar pit and adds dangerous mud-form attacks. In that second encounter, focus on evading the transformed attacks and save your damage for the opening when Bajie returns to boar form and collapses.
Where to find Zhu Bajie
The first encounter is directly after the Hut of Immortality shrine in Chapter 4’s Webbed Hollow, according to PowerPyx’s boss guide. After that duel, continue along the nearby route to reach a separate tar-pit encounter. Black Myth Guide’s boss index describes both fights in the hut area.

How to handle the hut duel
PowerPyx recommends using spell-based burst damage during the earlier fight. Its strategy advises dodging the first three attacks before summoning Pluck of Many in the second portion of the fight. If you need mana for the next attempt, the guide suggests resting at the shrine before continuing. These are guide recommendations, and their usefulness can depend on your build and timing.
How to survive the tar-pit encounter
The later encounter shifts the priority from dealing damage to avoiding it. PowerPyx describes a boar charge followed by mud-creature forms, including rhino-like charges and a fish-like leap from the mud. It warns that these attacks hit hard and that movement is slower in the mud. Black Myth Guide also calls out the rhino charge and catfish shockwave as hazards.

Evade the transformed attacks
- When Bajie takes a rhino-like form, prioritize getting clear of the charge rather than trading hits. Black Myth Guide recommends running from it.
- Watch for the fish-like leap and shockwave. Black Myth Guide advises jumping the catfish shockwave.
- Keep in mind that mud slows your movement, so avoid relying on last-second dodges while standing in it.
Punish the return to boar form
When Bajie returns to boar form and collapses, use that recovery opening to attack. PowerPyx names Immobilize and Transformation as possible ways to add burst damage during the opening. Avoid spending your effort trying to trade damage during the hazardous mud-form sequence.
