To turn an existing Sim into a Fairy, plant a Fairy Seedling, drink the potion Mother Nature provides, then reach Moondrop Springs in Everdew and choose Become a Fairy within 24 Sim hours. You need The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature. For a new household Sim, you can instead select Fairy directly in Create a Sim.
What you need to become a Fairy
The Fairy occult type is part of The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature, an expansion released July 10, 2025. It requires the base game. EA’s expansion listing describes it as digital content licensed for access.
There are two ways to add a Fairy to your game: create one directly in Create a Sim (CAS), or transform an existing Sim in Live Mode. The second route requires a Fairy Seedling and a timed visit to Moondrop Springs.

Make a Fairy in Create a Sim
- Open Create a Sim, either when starting a household or by editing a Sim.
- Open the occult selector and choose Fairy.
- Customize the Sim’s regular appearance and Fairy form as desired, then finish creating or editing the Sim.
EA also documents adding a Fairy occult Sim while adding a Sim to a household. Fairies have a regular Sim form and a separate Fairy form; you can edit the forms separately or link selected appearance filters.

Transform an existing Sim in Live Mode
1. Get a Fairy Seedling
EA lists several ways to obtain one: research, ask a Fairy for a seed, forage, or purchase one on a computer. To ask a Fairy, choose More Choices > Fairy > Social > Ask How to Become a Fairy, then choose More Choices > Fairy > Social > Ask for Fairy Seedling. To buy one, use a computer and select More Choices > Order > Purchase Fairy Seedling. The seedling goes into Personal Inventory.
2. Plant the seedling
Select a planter box, pot, or outdoor terrain and choose Plant Fairy Seedling.

3. Receive Mother Nature’s Charm and drink the potion
Mother Nature should appear and charm your Sim automatically. If she does not, select Mother Nature and choose Ask for Mother Nature’s Charm. Drink the potion she gives you to begin the transformation window.
4. Reach Moondrop Springs before the effect expires
Travel to Moondrop Springs in Everdew and select Become a Fairy before the potion’s effect runs out. The effect lasts 24 Sim hours. EA locates the Springs near Starsong Lounge. If the window expires before you complete the interaction, the documented process requires the charm effect to be active, so obtain the charm and try again.

5. Adjust the Fairy form
The Fairy form and wings are selected automatically during transformation. To change the result, edit the Fairy form in Create a Sim.
What changes after transformation
Age and appearance
Sims of any age can become Fairies, but wings and Fairy powers appear only once the Sim reaches the Teen stage. Younger Fairies therefore do not immediately have the full set of visible features and abilities.

Needs and Emotional Force
Fairies do not have Hunger or Bladder needs. Instead, they rely on Emotional Force. If it is not replenished, a Fairy can die of Emotional Starvation. EA lists absorbing emotion from other Sims, regenerating force, regenerating it at a Fairy Home, and using an Emotion Potion as ways to recover it.
Paths, abilities, and ranks
EA describes two directions for Fairies: Harmonious Fairies help living things find health and balance, while Discordant Fairies enjoy mischief. Their abilities can affect plants, objects, and other Sims.

Using abilities earns experience. Spend ability points on active or passive powers in four categories: Manipulation, Emotion, Nature, and Customization. Fairies advance through five ranks: Faint, Glowing, Glimmering, Brilliant, and Radiant. Since some abilities use Emotional Force, keep an eye on that need before relying on powers repeatedly.
EA’s Enchanted by Nature announcement describes the choice as two different Fairy paths following transformation.

- Check the expansion: Fairies require Enchanted by Nature.
- Check the charm window: your Sim must have drunk Mother Nature’s potion, and its 24-Sim-hour effect must still be active.
- Check the destination: travel to Moondrop Springs in Everdew, near Starsong Lounge, rather than another location.
- Ask Mother Nature directly: if she did not automatically charm the Sim after planting, select her and use Ask for Mother Nature’s Charm.
