Open your phone with Tab, select Character from the option above the phone display, then drag a clothing item from your inventory into its matching slot. The Character option is easy to miss because it sits outside the phone screen itself.
Equip clothing from your inventory

Select Character at the top of the screen, above the phone display.

Drag the clothing item from your inventory into the matching character slot.
If you cannot find the item, check your inventory: clothing needs to be there before you can equip it. Leave an open inventory slot when you obtain new clothes, since they are placed in your inventory.

Replace or remove an outfit item
To replace clothing in an occupied slot, drag another item into that slot. The replaced item reportedly returns to your inventory. You can put unwanted clothes on shelving or discard them from your inventory.
Where to get clothes
PC Gamer’s guide, published 1 April 2025, identifies Thrifty Threads as the clothing shop near the motel where you start after the prologue. The guide says you can choose a color before buying and pay with money on your card rather than cash. Shop location and interface details may have changed in a later game update, so check the current in-game shop.

Confirm the clothing is in your inventory and that you have room to carry it.
