To block someone in Fortnite, open your player profile, go to Social, search for their Epic Games display name, and use More Options to select Block. Confirm the choice. To undo it, find the player in the same menu, select Unblock, and confirm. These are Epic Games’ documented steps; menu labels can vary by language or change with updates. How to block a player in Fortnite
- Launch Fortnite and select the Player Profile icon—the circle showing your current character outfit.
- Select Social.
- Search for the player using their Epic Games display name.
- Select their display name, then select More Options.
- Select Block, then select Block again to confirm.
Epic says the blocked player’s display name will show an Epic Blocked notification. If the labels in your client differ, look for the equivalent profile, Social, and More Options controls. Epic’s instructions.

How to unblock someone
- Open your Player Profile and select Social.
- Search for the blocked player’s Epic Games display name and select the player.
- Choose More Options, then Unblock.
- Select Unblock again to confirm.
Unblocking does not automatically restore the person to your Friends list. If you want to be friends again through Epic, add them back. Epic Games Launcher support.
Why does the player still appear blocked?
If you play on PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch and still cannot interact with or invite the person after unblocking them through Epic, check whether you also blocked them through your console account. Epic advises checking the platform-level block when its own unblock has not resolved the issue. Epic’s invite troubleshooting guidance.

Should you block or report a player?
Blocking is for managing unwanted contact. Reporting is appropriate when a player may be violating Epic’s Community Rules; Epic says suspected violations can be reported through in-game reporting. As Epic’s guidance puts it, “If you meet someone you don’t like but aren’t violating the Community Rules, you can block the person.” Epic Games Community Rules.

Fortnite’s social settings also let you control who can text chat with you and who can send friend requests. Those controls affect broader categories of players; they are separate from blocking one specific person. Epic’s social privacy settings guidance.
